In-Person 341 Meetings Forbidden in Bankruptcy During Coronavirus Outbreak

April 24, 2020. The U.S. Trustee Program extends order disallowing in-person creditor meetings.

On April 24, 2020, the U.S. Trustee Program issued a new notice extending a prior order canceling all in-person 341 meetings of creditors. The extended date is July 10, 2020.

Bankruptcy trustees can continue to hold creditor meetings telephonically or by another means that doesn't require an in-person appearance. The 341 meeting of creditors is an appearance all bankruptcy filers must attend. Learn more in Meeting of Creditors (341 Hearing).

Bankruptcy courts remain operational, and all courts have modified 341 appearances to comply with the new notice. Changes to entrance, filing, motion hearing, and other procedures adopted on a court-by-court basis are posted online.
