The weather is great, the courts are fully functional, but . . . the Wednesday night World Series win of the San Francisco Giants against the Kansas City Royals has prompted a parade. It is planned to start start at noon Friday, October 31 on Market Street near the Embarcadero. That's mere blocks from the location of the San Francisco Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), otherwise known as the immigration court. Parking will no doubt be impossible, and BART (subway) cars will be packed.
So if you have an afternoon master calendar, merits, removal, or other hearing before an immigration judge in San Francisco on October 31, be aware that it has been cancelled. (Morning cases will be heard as usual.)
The court plans to send out rescheduling notices in the coming weeks.
