Angel M. Traub

Angel M. Traub is a family and estates attorney and principal owner of the all female law firm of A. Traub & Associates in Lombard, Arlington Heights, and Chicago South Loop. She practices primarily in the areas of family law, adoption, estate planning, probate, trust administration, guardianship, and real estate.

Angel graduated in 1998 from Northern Illinois University with her B.A., summa cum laude, and University Honors. She majored in Corporate Communications, with a minor in Spanish. She also was a Presidential Academic Awardee.

In 2001, Angel graduated from The John Marshall Law School with a J.D., cum laude. She was selected a John Marshall Distinguished Scholar and was a member of the Order of John Marshall, Honorary Scholarship Society. She served as a member of The John Marshall Law Review (1999-2001). In the Fall of 2000, she was published in The John Marshall Law Review, ("The Wall is Down, Now We Build More: The Exclusionary Effects of Gated Communities Demand Stricter Burdens Under the FHA"). She participated in the National Mock Trial Competition (NTC) in 2001 and is a regional winner of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) Trial Advocacy Competition in 2000. She also served as an intern for Honorable Ronald Guzman, Federal District Court, Northern District of Illinois in 2000. Angel was admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and the Northern District of Illinois in 2001.

Angel practices in many forms of civil litigation, primarily in the area of family law, guardianship, and adoption. She also practices in estate planning, estate administration, probate, contested estates, residential real estate, and real estate litigation.

Angel is a strong advocate for children. She is qualified as a GAL and child's representative for children in domestic relations for family law, divorce, child custody (allocation of parental responsibilities), and also in adoption and disabled guardianships. She has been committed to serving as a GAL for over 13 years, handling many child visitation and parental allocation (custody) cases in DuPage, Kane, and Cook Counties.

Angel is also certified in divorce and parental allocation (custody) mediation and is a certified civil litigation and family law mediator. She is court approved in DuPage, Cook, Kane, and Will counties, and she is also approved for the Cook County Financial Mediator list. She is trained and certified in collaborative divorce law, and she is a certified arbitrator for DuPage County.

Angel is very active in Bar Associations. She is Past-President of the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers (DAWL) (2007-2008). She served on the DuPage County Bar Association (DCBA) Board of Directors, 2007-2012. She also served as Chair of the Judge's Nite Committee (2012-2014), Chair of the Membership Committee (2007), Chair of the Family Law Committee (2013-2014), Chair of the Real Estate Committee (2017-2018), and member of the Judiciary Committee. She is a committed participant in the DCBA's Annual Judge's Nite production, and she was the producer of the show from 2009 to 2014. She is also a member of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association, Suburban Bar Coalition Judiciary Committee (2012-2013), member of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) (2001 - present), and an ISBA Foundation Fellow. She was a member of The American Inns of Court, DuPage County Chapter (2007-2014), and served as Team Leader from 2008-2010. She has served on The John Marshall Law School Alumni Committee and Mentor Program. She has also actively assisted as an attorney for the DuPage County family law pro se court and as a court facilitator for pro se litigants in Rolling Meadows, Cook County.

Angel is a recipient of the DCBA Board of Director's Award (2009-2010 and 2011-2012), and recipient of the DuPage Legal Assistance Foundation Pro Bono Service Award (2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012). She was named 2017 Top 100 Lawyers by the American Society of Legal Advocates (ASLA). She was named 2017 Top 10% of Lawyers in the USA by Lawyers of Distinction. She is also rated 10 out of 10 on AVVO.

Angel has attended and presented at several continuing legal education seminars in the areas of estate planning, probate and estate administration, contested estates, GAL advanced training, guardianship, family law, divorce, and contested child custody. She has participated in advanced master's courses in child representation, negotiation, mediation, estate planning, and trial advocacy.

Angel also serves on the College of DuPage (COD) Foundation Board (2016 - present). For the Board, she also serves on the alumni and scholarship committees. Angel routinely speaks at Law Day events for the general public and at community events in the areas of estate planning, guardianship, and family Law.

Jessica Wollwage-Rymut

Jessica Wollwage-Rymut graduated from Northwestern University in 2007 with a degree in Political Science. After working for a year at a commercial real estate firm, Jessica was offered admission to the Chicago-Kent College of Law Honors Scholar Program. As an Honors Scholar, Jessica and her classmates enjoyed many unique opportunities, including working with Illinoislegalaid.org to create online tutorials for victims of domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault.

During law school, Jessica interned at the Chicago-Kent Taxpayer clinic helping taxpayers prepare returns and negotiate with the Internal Revenue Service. She also volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate with CASA of DuPage County, Inc.

Since completing law school, Jessica has focused her practice on family law, estate planning, guardianship, and estate administration matters. Her areas of experience include minor and adult guardianship, probate, adoption, divorce, parentage, maintenance, child support, child custody (allocation of parental responsibilities), visitation (parenting time), and post-decree matters.

Jessica has been licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois since 2011 and is a member of the DuPage County Bar Association, the Northwest Suburban Bar Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association. She served as the 2016-2017 DuPage County Law Day Vice-Chair and the 2017-2018 Law Day Chair, and is the New Lawyer Division member of the DCBA Public Interest and Education Commission. She has participated in several continuing legal education seminars in the areas of Family Law and Estate, and routinely presents on estate planning issues for clients. In 2020 and 2021, Jessica was selected as a Super Lawyer Rising Star.

Kasia Malkinska Naugle

Kasia Malkinska Naugle is a partner at A. Traub & Associates, and an accomplished litigator focusing her practice in the areas of Family Law, which include dissolution of marriage, paternity, child support, visitation, property division, post-dissolution matters, as well as matters involving Domestic Violence and Orders of Protection. She joined the firm in 2022, bringing with her over a decade of experience.

Kasia's legal career began as an Assistant State's Attorney with the Office of the DuPage County State's Attorney. Throughout her 5 years with the State's Attorneys Office, Kasia tried over 200 bench and jury trials, involving general misdemeanors, DUIs, Domestic Battery and Violation of Orders of Protection. After being promoted to the Felony Division, Kasia prosecuted complex Abuse and Neglect cases involving DCFS, and Juvenile Delinquency cases. Notably, Kasia was part of the team working alongside the State's Attorney, Joseph E. Birkett, in the highly publicized prosecution of Brian Dugan, a convicted serial killer and rapist.

Kasia has earned a reputation with her clients and within the legal community for her diligent work ethic and as a skilled negotiator, routinely settling the majority of her complex cases. However, her extensive litigation experience and strong courtroom presence, permit her to assertively and zealously advocate for her clients in the courtroom when necessary. Kasia's diverse experience has afforded her the opportunity to provide an in-depth analysis for each client's case, which has produced favorable outcomes for her clients.

As a qualified Guardian ad Litem and a mother herself - Kasia has the insight on how conflict within the family unit impacts children which enables her to effectively advocate for their best interests.

Kasia was born in Poland and came to the Chicago area when she was only 10 years old. She is bilingual and prepared to provide services to Polish speaking clients.

Ashley L. Pipal

Attorney Ashley Pipal graduated from Illinois State University in 2009 with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice. In 2013, she graduated from Arizona Summit Law School in Phoenix, Arizona. During law school, Ashley interned with the Family Law Assistance Project in Phoenix, which provided her with an understanding of the legal issues that families often need to address and the importance of high-quality representation in these cases. During this time, she also worked full-time as a manager at LifeTime Fitness, which gave her an appreciation of the hard work that many people put in to provide for their families. Ashley joined A. Traub & Associates in 2022, bringing with her over a decade of legal experience.

Ashley has focused her practice on family law and real estate. She has represented clients in multiple types of real estate transactions and litigation, including residential real estate closings, foreclosure defense, evictions, eviction defense, and landlord/tenant disputes. This experience ensures that she can help clients address and resolve any legal issues that may arise when buying or selling a home, as well as other cases involving residential and commercial real estate.

Ashley has extensive experience representing clients in multiple types of family law cases, including divorce, parentage, spousal maintenance, child support, allocation of parental responsibilities (formerly known as custody), parenting time (visitation), grandparent visitation, and post-decree matters. She is also a qualified Guardian ad Litem and Child Representative in Cook County. Ashley understands the importance of family, and she works to help her clients resolve disputes effectively while ensuring that their rights will be protected. In cases involving children, she strives to help parents or other family members find solutions that will provide for children's best interests while preserving important family relationships. She makes every effort to treat clients with compassion, reduce the stress of dealing with legal issues, and resolve disputes quickly and efficiently.

Ashley has been licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois since 2014, and she is a member of the DuPage County Bar Association, the Northwest Suburban Bar Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association. She lives in the northwest suburbs with her two rescue dogs, Payton and Riesling.

Erica Soto Gerena

Erica received her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2022 and was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in November 2022. During law school, she interned at the Chicago-Kent Family Law Clinic. During her tenure there, she assisted with a variety of family law matters. She also served as the treasurer of the Racial Equity Advocacy Alliance at Chicago-Kent. As a student she received a CALI Excellence for the Future Award for earning the highest-class grade in her Justice and Technology class.

Erica graduated summa cum laude from Illinois State University where she received a bachelor's degree in Legal Studies and Political Science. While there she interned at a small family law firm.

During law school, Erica clerked at a real estate law firm where she aided clients in a variety of areas including landlord-tenant law, small business claims, and business contract negotiations.

Here at A. Traub & Associates, Erica is excited to be a part of the family law team. This is where her legal passion lies. She is committed to providing families a smooth transition during a difficult time in their lives. In addition to her legal skills, Erica is also fluent in Spanish.
