Stewart Poisson focuses her practice on litigation. Stewart opened the Wilmington office of Poisson, Poisson & Bower in 2006. She assists clients in both of the firm's offices in the fields of Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury and handles all appellate work for the firm. She particularly enjoys helping clients who have been injured in workplace accidents caused by the negligence of a third party. She represents clients in the both the personal injury claim and the workers' compensation claim and is skilled at maximizing her clients' recovery in these complicated cases.
Stewart frequently presents at continuing legal education courses for workers' compensation attorneys in North Carolina. She also has appeared before the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court throughout her career as an attorney. While in law school, she interned for The Honorable Hugh B. Campbell, Jr. at the North Carolina Court of Appeals and The Honorable Michael E. Beale at the Superior Court of Judicial District 20A of the State of North Carolina.

Davis Poisson is an attorney with Poisson, Poisson & Bower, PLLC and is licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina. Davis devotes the majority of his practice to civil litigation with a focus on personal injury law and various areas of consumer law. In North Carolina, he represents those that have been seriously injured physically and financially. In South Carolina, he represents clients in all areas of personal injury law including car accidents, trucking accidents, catastrophic injury, premises liability and wrongful death cases.
In 2013, Davis graduated from North Carolina Central University School of Law, Magna Cum Laude, in just two and a half years. Prior to attending law school, Davis owned and managed two real estate companies in Raleigh, North Carolina. His focus was on property sales, management and investment consulting. In 2017, Davis tried a week long civil trial resulting in an outstanding Plaintiff's verdict and then sat for the South Carolina Bar Exam a few weeks later. He was sworn in to practice law in South Carolina in May of 2017.
Davis is an active member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice serving on the Board of Governors for the organization for 2016-17 and 2017-18. He has chaired the consumer/ commercial litigation section during that time period. Davis is also a member of the South Carolina Association for Justice.
Davis followed in the footsteps of his father and sister in joining the law firm of Poisson, Poisson and Bower, PLLC. Like his sister, Stewart Poisson, he is a third generation lawyer to practice law in Anson County and a fifth generation lawyer to practice in North Carolina since 1857.

Kathryn Scarborough focuses her practice in the area of workers' compensation and unemployment benefits claims. A native of Anson County, Kathryn has worked at Poisson, Poisson and Bower in various roles since 1999 and has established a reputation as someone who understands and cares about the needs of the people in this area.
Kathryn first began her work at Poisson, Poisson and Bower in 1999 when she joined the staff while in high school. After college, Kathryn returned to the firm and worked in the workers' compensation and personal injury departments for over a year before attending law school. It was through this experience that she developed an interest in these areas of law, witnessing first-hand the unfair handling of claims by insurance companies. Kathryn enjoyed working to help ensure that the people in her community received fair and just compensation for their claims.
Kathryn is part of the firm's team of attorneys that collaborate daily on their workers' compensation cases to provide the most thorough representation possible. She also represents clients in unemployment benefits claims. Outside of work, Kathryn volunteers with various organizations in the community, including Uptown Wadesboro, Inc., where she serves as Vice-Chair, and the Anson County Historical Society, where she serves as Treasurer.

Whitney Scarborough focuses her practice on family law, social security disability, and estates. Whitney has a reputation for perseverance and dedication to her clients. She develops relationships with her clients which helps to make her a strong advocate for her clients' interests.
Whitney is able to relate to clients from all walks of life. Her experience growing up with a local family business, as a native Ansonian and now as a parent give her a unique ability to understand her clients' cases. She is dedicated to understanding each client's needs, helping each client understand the legal process and working toward the best resolution for each client.
Whitney was born and raised in Anson County before attending and graduating from the NC School of Science and Mathematics in Durham, NC. After graduation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she obtained her law degree from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. While at Campbell, she was a member of the Campbell Law Review and the Student Bar Association. Whitney focused her studies in law school on trial advocacy and is skilled in the courtroom.
Whitney is admitted to practice in all state courts of North Carolina and the United States District Court for the Western and Middle Districts of North Carolina. She is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, the North Carolina Bar Association, the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives and the Anson County Bar Association. Whitney serves as the New Lawyer Liaison for the Disability Advocacy Section of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. She is actively involved in the Anson County community and is a member of the Wadesboro Rotary Club, serving as the Public Relations Chairperson for the Club. She is also an active member of First Baptist Church of Wadesboro serving as an usher and on the nursery committee.
