He also played center on the basketball team and made the Kentucky All-Star team in 1964 where he played along side of the great Wes Unseld and others.
After high school, Jim joined the army where he received two Bronze Stars while serving as a medic in the Special Forces in Vietnam rescuing wounded soldiers.
After serving he obtained a degree in accounting from Western Kentucky University before attending law school at the University of Louisville.
He has raised 4 children and loves being a grandparent to his 10 grandkids.
