James is a graduate of Hamline University, and he obtained his Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law. James has practiced exclusively in Social Security disability law throughout his 23-year legal career. He has personally represented more individuals in their disability claims than any other attorney licensed and practicing in Minnesota. During those 23 years, he has either represented or worked on disability claims for more than 90,000 people throughout the country and at all levels of the administrative process and in United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Prior to beginning his legal education, Patrick served four years in the United States Marine Corps. During law school he served with the United States Army Reserve in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a graduate of Hamline University, where he completed his B.A. in Legal Studies and obtained his Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law, receiving the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in the study of Conflicts of Law. In addition, Patrick obtained his LL.M. in International Commercial Law from the University of Nottingham, England.

Patrick Toomey practices exclusively in the area of Social Security disability law and has represented thousands of clients at all levels from initial filing through civil actions before the U.S. District Court. Patrick has practiced Social Security disability law since graduating from law school in 2002.
