How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

From the start of my practice over 20 years ago I knew I would always represent consumers and in my own practice. Consumers do not have the resources of big business and the government. Nor do they have the protections. And yet they are the main drivers of what made this country great. There is nothing wrong with business, big or small, its just that I saw that everyday people were in need of good legal assistance. As a result I focused on consumer needs such as protection from large financial institutions, government abuses, and civil rights. I enjoy meeting clients and assisting them to solve legal problems.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others?

Over 22 years of actual courtroom experience allows me to provide real world practical advice on what counts. Not on what should be, but on the reality of any given situation. The laws are not always fair and just. I also have experienced many of the same things my clients are experiencing. Many years ago I was in financial distress as a result of a business failure. I experienced first hand the issues confronted by everyday consumers who needed a work out solution. I found that, at that time at least, there was no real legal assistance for individuals in that situation. I vowed to fill that gap and to this day work on assisting consumers to get back on their feet financially.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

Fitzgerald & Campbell is a firm like no other. We have hard working and focused lawyers and staff who take your case personally. We come from working class neighborhoods and have a chip on our shoulders. We have something to prove and aim to prove it on every case we work on. We are honest, loyal, and driven. Our firm is not so much a business as it is a mission to help everyday folks survive an ever complicated and unjust world.

Fitzgerald & Campbell, A Professional Law Corporation
Gregory Fitzgerald

Gregory Fitzgerald was born and raised in Los Angeles County. He attended high school overseas and returned to the US in 1980 where he attended California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting (1984) and began his post-collegiate career as a tax auditor with the IRS. Dissatisfied with the inherent unfairness of the US Tax Code, he obtained a California contractor's license, worked as a contractor by day, and went to law school at night. He graduated first in his class at Southern California College of Law in 1990, passed the California bar exam, and commenced practicing law in 1991.

Mr. Fitzgerald began his legal career working for a small consumer protection firm before opening his own practice in 1992 in Orange CA. He has always been dedicated to helping individuals and small businesses from the substantial and unfair overreach of the government and its protected insiders such as banks, insurance companies, and other large crony corporate interests such as debt buyers and collectors. In 22 years of practice, he has represented thousands of clients, tried hundreds of cases, and secured countless victories for his clients.

He was an Orange County Judge Pro Tem from 1996 to 2006, is admitted to practice before all California state courts (CA bar #153082), is admitted to The United States District Court in the Central District, Southern District, Eastern District, and the Northern District of California. He is also a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Western San Bernardino County Bar Association, and Consumer Attorneys of California.

Fitzgerald & Campbell, A Professional Law Corporation
William James Campbell, Jr.

William Campbell's experience as a litigator has placed him in a unique position to fight for his clients. After graduating from Southwestern University College of Law and passing the California State Bar Exam, William sought as much time in the courtroom as possible. The best place to do this was working for the Fresno County Public Defender and District Attorney's Office.

William's start as a criminal defense attorney with the Public Defenders Office was short-lived after securing an acquittal for his client in his first jury trial as a lawyer. It was soon after that acquittal that William found himself working for the District Attorney's Office. In that capacity, William spent almost every day in the courtroom arguing motions and doing jury trials. The number of hours spent in the courtroom refined William's courtroom presence and skill as a litigator.

With all the necessary skills to be an effective litigator, William moved to the private sector and to civil law. William began working as a Senior Litigator with The Seideman Law Firm, P.C. William fought for consumers who were harassed by creditors, debt collectors, and debt buyers as a Plaintiff's lawyer using the Federal Fair Debt Collections Practices Act and its California equivalent, The Rosenthal Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. William filed and successfully prosecuted over 200 cases. William also defended debtors who were sued in debt collection cases.

William is committed to his clients and fights for them with technique, legal acumen, and passion.
