Family Law

For over 40 years the partners of Berman, Bourns, Aaron & Dembo have practiced family law. It is an area of the law where we have considerable experience. We assist clients in the dissolution of their marriages and civil unions (divorce), legal and informal separations, resolution both of issues concerning children and financial issues, handling appeals, and advising/preparing both prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. We are experienced at using both traditional and adversarial methods and the more creative, less combative methods of mediation and collaborative law. We strive to help families through this difficult and challenging time in their lives in ways that will ameliorate anger, fear, sadness and bitterness, rather than using the often too-combative ways that acerbate those feelings. We want to help our clients, and their children, bring some measure of closure to a chapter in their lives that has not worked out and move forward with some hope that a new, more promising chapter awaits them.
