Michael York

Michael has been a member of the firm since 2005. His focus of practice includes:

Prior to joining the firm Michael worked at the white collar criminal defense firm of Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iasson and Silberberg and the litigation firm Martin, Clearwater & Bell, where he specialized in the defense of health care institutions, manufactures and other professionals.

A native of Ocean County, Michael graduated from Toms River South High School and remains active within the community, serving as a member or board member of several local and regional chambers of commerce, professional associations, health care and educational organizations and facilities, youth groups and charities. He and his wife, Lori reside in New York City with their son and daughter.

Harvey York

Harvey has been a member of the firm since 1971. His focus of practice includes:

In addition, Harvey is qualified as an expert in real estate and land use law in the New Jersey Superior Court and United States District Court.

Harvey is deeply entrenched in the New Jersey banking, business, education and nonprofit sectors, including serving on the advisory board of Investors Bank; the executive committee of the board of trustees of the Ocean County College Foundation; the board of directors of the Ocean County United Way; and as a founding member of the Toms River Daybreak Kiwanis Club.

He has been recognized for his commitment to the community by the Ocean County Chamber of Commerce, the United Way, the Ocean County College Foundation and the Lehigh University Board of Alumni.

Harvey and his wife Barbara have lived in Toms River for more than 40 years. Their two sons, Michael and David are also members of the firm.

Michael Jacobus

Michael has been with the firm since graduating law school in 1998. His focus of practice includes:

In addition, Michael is a qualified mediator, serving on the statewide roster of mediators pursuant to Court Rule 1:40 for civil, general equity and probate cases, and is a member of the Guardianship Association of New Jersey.

He is a lifelong resident of Toms River and remains active in the community by serving as an executive board member for several local charitable organizations, as well as a volunteer and head coach for the Toms River Basketball Association and Toms River Futbol Club. He and his wife, Dawn, have two children.

Melissa M. Williem

Melissa has been with the firm since early 2012. She focuses her practice primarily on family law, including:

Melissa began developing her expertise in family law while in law school, when she was chosen to work at the Domestic Violence Clinic. She continued that development following graduation, first while serving as a family court clerk and then a member of Toms River firm of Gilmore & Monahan, where she represented the Ocean County Board of Social Services regarding various family law issues.

Melissa is strongly rooted in Ocean County, having graduated from Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin, where she resides today with her husband, Brendan and their daughter.

Lauren Murray Dooley

Lauren has been with the firm since late 2012. Her focus of practice includes:

Lauren commenced her legal career with a civil court clerkship for the Honorable Edward M. Oles. Since then, her legal practice has included all aspects of government affairs counseling and litigation, representing large public entities such as the County of Ocean, Ocean County College and various boards of education. Lauren resides in Brick Township with her husband Kevin, and their two children.

David York

David is one of our newest members, having joined the firm in 2013. With a wide range of expertise, his focus of practice includes:

-Government Affairs

Prior to joining the firm David was the Senior Vice President for World Water & Solar Technologies, where he served as in-house counsel and managed international business development. David also has deep roots in New Jersey politics, serving as the Director of Legislative Policy for Governor Jon S. Corzine. In addition, he gained valuable experience in the area of immigration law while serving on the staffs of two United States Senators.

David is a native of Ocean County, having graduated from Toms River High School South. He resides in Bergen County with his wife Amy and their twin daughters.
