I am very fortunate to practice in two areas that I am passionate about: family law and juvenile law.

During law school I worked for both the Chisago County and Hennepin County Attorney's Offices as a law clerk and Student Certified Attorney. At Chisago County, I was responsible for multiple child protection cases and prosecuted many juvenile delinquency and juvenile traffic offense cases at the first appearance level. At Hennepin County, I worked exclusively in the Juvenile Prosecution Division. I prosecuted numerous juvenile traffic offenses from arraignment to trial. Further, I assisted on many juvenile delinquency cases, including cases involving narcotics, robbery and murder. Effective representation during juvenile delinquency and child protection matters is very important, because there are multiple factors and consequences to consider. While doing juvenile prosecution, I was amazed by the number of offenders that were also in child protection at one time. Successful child protection defense and juvenile delinquency defense has enormous effects.

Family law first appealed to me during law school when I took family law class. The discussions were so personal and emotional. I gained practical family law experience working for Moss & Barnett, P.A. I had the opportunity to assist with multiple divorces. I have experience involving property division, spousal maintenance, child support, child custody and prenuptial agreements. I am also a strong negotiator. My most rewarding experience thus far was assisting with a custody trial. During a custody trial the welfare of the child is in the hands of the judge. Hard work and passionate representation are crucial.

My passion comes from my family. My husband is a police officer. This makes for interesting discussions and insight into some police actions. Further, our daughter is the greatest joy in my life. Her happiness guides my choices in life. My role as an attorney is to assist families through the legal technicalities so they can focus on the future.
