James J. Madden, Esquire

James J. Madden, Esquire, is the Founding Partner and Chairman of the firm. Mr. Madden has been admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey since 1967. He received his B.A. from LaSalle College in 1961 and his J. D. from Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1967. From 1962 to 1964 he served with the First Armored Division as a First Lieutenant in Fort Hood, Texas. Mr. Madden served a judicial clerkship with the Honorable R. Cooper Brown and the Honorable Anthony C. Mitchell of the New Jersey Superior Court from August 1967 to July 1968.

Mr. Madden has been engaged in the area of civil litigation primarily in the defense of all types of commercial claims. In addition, he has handled bankruptcy matters, title litigation, land use matters and has been, for many years, counsel to Healthcare Quality Strategies, Inc., a federally funded Medicare/Medicaid quality review organization.

Michael P. Madden, Esquire

Michael P. Madden, Esquire, is President of the firm. He has been practicing law in New Jersey since 1972. Mr. Madden is a graduate of the College of William and Mary (B.A. 1968) and Rutgers University School of Law (J. D. 1972). He is a member of the Bar of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Madden is the former prosecutor for the Borough of Collingswood and presently is the Solicitor for the Borough of Collingswood Planning Board. In addition, he served as the Municipal Court Judge for the Borough of Lindenwold from 1979 to 1981 and the Borough of Pine Valley from 1979 to 1981. He is a current member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association and a member of the Civil Trial Bar Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Mr. Madden is a former member of the ethics commission. He was formerly Chairman of the Civil Trial Bar Section and presently is a member of the Supreme Court of New Jersey Committee on the Rules of Evidence, on which he has served since 2011. He also has appeared before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the New Jersey Division of Civil Rights.

Throughout his legal career, Mr. Madden has been engaged primarily in the area of civil litigation in the defense of all types of claims. He has extensive experience in defense of insurance coverage issues, including the defense of broker's errors and omissions claims, as well as the defense of employment discrimination claims including sexual harassment, age discrimination, wrongful discharge, ERISA litigation, the defense of governmental entities/employees in Civil Rights and Section 1983 claims including litigation under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, New Jersey Title 18A (educational law), claims involving the Federal Family Medical Leave Act and the New Jersey Family Medical Leave Act. Mr. Madden has appeared before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit on at least five (5) occasions, the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division on numerous occasions and the Commissioner of Education for the State of New Jersey.

Patrick J. Madden, Esquire

Patrick J. Madden, Esquire, is a Partner with the firm. Mr. Madden is a graduate of St. Joseph's Preparatory School (1986), the University of Delaware (B.A. 1990) and the Rutgers School of Law at Camden (J. D. with Honors, 1996). He has been admitted to the Bars of the State of New Jersey, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey since 1996, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit since 1997 and the United States Supreme Court since 2001. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Madden served in the United States Marine Corps, deploying twice with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

Mr. Madden has concentrated his practice in civil litigation involving commercial, construction, civil rights and employment claims. Mr. Madden has extensive litigation experience and has tried numerous cases to verdict in both the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Superior Court of New Jersey, as well as successfully litigating construction arbitration cases to conclusion before both private and American Arbitration Association panels. Mr. Madden has also argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey on numerous occasions.

Mr. Madden has received a Peer Review Rating of AV Preeminent from Martindale-Hubbell. An AV certification mark is a significant rating accomplishment a testament to the fact that a lawyer's peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence. Mr. Madden has also received a Martindale-Hubbell Client Rating of 5.0 out of 5.0. In 2012, Mr. Madden was appointed as a Member of the District IV Fee Arbitration Committee by the Office of Attorney Ethics of the Supreme Court of New Jersey.

Mr. Madden resides in Haddon Township, New Jersey with his wife and two children. His interests include reading, skiing and running.

John-Paul Madden, Esquire

John-Paul Madden, Esquire, is a Partner with the firm. Mr. Madden is a graduate of Princeton University (B.A. 1992) and the Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (J.D. 1998 cum laude) where he was a member of the Temple University Law Review. Mr. Madden was admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1998. He also is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Madden has been engaged in the area of civil defense litigation in both the trial and appellate levels. He has experience representing clients in a variety of contexts, including consumer fraud, professional negligence, employment, civil rights, commercial, insurance and construction. He further has experience with commercial real estate litigation, commercial development and commercial and residential real estate transaction matters. Mr. Madden is a member of the Temple Law Alumni Association Executive Committee and the Princeton Football Association.

Matthew P. Madden, Esquire

Mr. Madden is a Partner with the firm. He graduated from LaSalle College (B.A. 1996) and Rutgers School of Law (J.D. 2002). He was admitted to the Bar in the State of New Jersey and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 2002 and United States District Court District of New Jersey in 2002.

Mr. Madden is Solicitor to the Borough of Audubon Joint Land Use Board, the Borough of Merchantville Joint Land Use Board and the Borough of Woodlynne Planning Board. He specializes in New Jersey Land Use Law, commercial and residential real estate transactions and real estate development work. In addition, Mr. Madden also maintains a general practice.

Michael V. Madden, Esquire

Mr. Madden is a Partner with the firm concentrating in negligence litigation, including motor vehicle accidents, tractor trailer accidents, slip and falls, premises liability, dog bite accidents and spinal cord injuries. Mr. Madden has extensive experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in all aspects of personal injury litigation. Mr. Madden represents both corporate and individual clients at both the trial and appellate levels.

Mr. Madden's practice also includes the defense of governmental entities in all areas of employment litigation in both state and federal courts, including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblowing, breach of contract, and wrongful termination.

Mr. Madden also maintains a commercial collections practice and a Municipal Court practice that includes all Municipal Court matters such as motor vehicle violations and expungements.

Mr. Madden received his J.D. from Vermont Law School in 2002 and his B.A. from St. Michael's College in 1997. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Madden served as the judicial law clerk to the Honorable Douglas T. Hague of the Superior Court of New Jersey in Middlesex County.

Mr. Madden is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Mr. Madden is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New Jersey Association for Justice and the Camden County Bar Association.

Timothy R. Bieg, Esquire

Timothy Bieg is an Associate with the firm. Mr. Bieg graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania in 2001, with a bachelor's degree in Business and Economics and earned his law degree in 2005 from the Rutgers School of Law, Camden. He has been admitted to the Bars of the State of New Jersey and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania since 2005, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey since 2006, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit since 2007.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Bieg served as the judicial law clerk to the Honorable Marc M. Baldwin of the Superior Court of New Jersey in Burlington County.

Mr. Bieg has concentrated his practice in civil litigation involving commercial, construction, civil rights and employment claims. He has extensive experience in defending public entities against various types of claims. Mr. Bieg resides in Haddon Heights, New Jersey with his wife and two children. He was elected to the Camden Catholic High School Hall of Fame in 2009.

Regina M. McKenna, Esquire

Ms. McKenna is an Associate with the firm. She is a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph Academy (2004), The College of New Jersey (B.S., with honors, 2007) and Rutgers School of Law Camden (J.D., with honors, 2011). In 2011, Ms. McKenna was admitted to the Bar in the State of New Jersey, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. McKenna served as the judicial law clerk to the Honorable Heidi Willis Currier, J.S.C. of the Superior Court of New Jersey in Middlesex County. She was a recipient of the 2011 James J. Manderino Award for Trial Advocacy issued by the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association.

Ms. McKenna is a trained court-appointed mediator. She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Camden County Bar Association. Ms. McKenna is engaged primarily in civil litigation in the defense of all types of claims.
