James J. Madden, Esquire, is the Founding Partner and Chairman of the firm. Mr. Madden has been admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey since 1967. He received his B.A. from LaSalle College in 1961 and his J. D. from Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1967. From 1962 to 1964 he served with the First Armored Division as a First Lieutenant in Fort Hood, Texas. Mr. Madden served a judicial clerkship with the Honorable R. Cooper Brown and the Honorable Anthony C. Mitchell of the New Jersey Superior Court from August 1967 to July 1968.

Mr. Madden has been engaged in the area of civil litigation primarily in the defense of all types of commercial claims. In addition, he has handled bankruptcy matters, title litigation, land use matters and has been, for many years, counsel to Healthcare Quality Strategies, Inc., a federally funded Medicare/Medicaid quality review organization.

In addition, he served as the Municipal Court Judge for the Borough of Lindenwold from 1979 to 1981 and the Borough of Pine Valley from 1979 to 1981. He is a current member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association and a member of the Civil Trial Bar Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Mr. Madden is a former member of the ethics commission. He was formerly Chairman of the Civil Trial Bar Section and presently is a member of the Supreme Court of New Jersey Committee on the Rules of Evidence, on which he has served since 2011.
