Firm Overview

In my 24 years of practicing law in the personal injury field, I have been involved in claims that would break your heart into pieces. When you investigate these wrecks and look at the photos taken at the scene of the crash - photos of men, women and children - who have died in these collisions, it leaves an indelible mark on you. Try as I may, I can never forget those faces.

Equally gut wrenching are the times when I meet with the surviving family members to talk about the wreck and about their loved one. They have such fond, vivid memories. But now, their world is turned upside down. I serve as part attorney and part counselor - helping them through the legal process while listening with them, at times crying with them, but always supporting them through the process.

Other families have met with me at the table discussing their wreck and their injuries. They tell me the paychecks have stopped coming because of the husband's back injury. Unfortunately, the bills haven'

Serious injuries demand serious action. That's why it is critical you contact a Georgia personal injury lawyer at Gary Martin Hays & Associates right now.
Every personal injury accident is unique. That is why we work closely with each client to develop a unique strategy that is specific to their legal needs. Do not simply assume your legal problems will go away. Take action. Contact Gary Martin Hays & Associates today. We cover a wide range of personal injury cases throughout the state of Georgia.

One of the major elements of a personal injury claim is the medical treatment that our clients undergo for the injuries they sustained in the collision. It is extremely important for any attorney that handles these claims to understand the medical issues. We often will have thousands of pages of medical records for just one seriously injured client. It is our job to sift through these records to create a medical history and summary of treatment so we can present the most accurate picture possible to the insurance company about our client's injuries, surgeries, physical therapy, and prescription medications. We also need to have a strong understanding of our client's injuries and treatment so we can intelligently discuss this with the treating physicians - either in face-to-face conferences or in depositions.

Most attorneys have never gone to medical school or had any formal medical training. This is still NO excuse for the attorney, as he/she needs to gain a greater understanding of medical terms and procedures. If necessary, we hire doctors or nurse consultants to help us evaluate the medical information so we can put it into a format that a layman can understand.

Here are just a few types of personal injury claims that we specialize in:

-Car Wrecks
-Commercial Truck Wrecks
-Motorcycle Wrecks
-Nursing Home Injury
-Drunk Driver Wrecks
-Head & Brain Injury
-Construction Accidents

Of the approximately 1.5 million residents of nursing homes, the vast majority of them are in good hands. Unfortunately, as the population ages and more and more people rely on the services of nursing homes, we are seeing more cases of nursing home abuse and neglect. Horrific cases of nursing home abuse and nursing home neglect occur far more frequently than civilized society can tolerate.
Types of nursing home injuries

While sexual assault in nursing homes generally makes headlines when reported, there are hundreds of other less sensational cases of nursing home injury involving dehydration, bed sores, falls, or inadequate staffing. These cases are important to the families and victims — and they matter to us, as well.

If you have any reason at all to suspect that a loved one in a nursing home has been injured due to the reckless or negligent conduct of another resident or by nursing home staff, we urge you to contact our firm. Even if you are not sure of what is happening, we may be able to help put your mind at rest or direct you to an appropriate authority.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Attorney Gary Martin Hays, our firm's founder, used to defend insurance companies in personal injury, product liability and wrongful death claims. Now he helps people like you — people who have been severely injured and need to recover for their losses. He didn't want to spend his career preventing personal injury victims from getting the financial compensation they are entitled by law to receive.

Having decided to commit his life to helping personal injury victims, in 1993, Gary Martin Hays founded the Law Offices of Gary Martin Hays & Associates, P.C. Attorney Hays was able to use his knowledge of how insurance companies work to assist people filing claims. The firm includes several other attorneys who used to work for insurance companies but now focus exclusively in personal injury law practice areas.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others

Gary graduated from Emory University in 1986 with a B.A. degree in Political Science and a minor in Afro-American and African Studies. In 1989, he received his law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law of Mercer University, Macon, Georgia. His outstanding academic achievements landed him a position on Mercer's Law Review. He also served the school as Vice President of the Student Bar Association.

Two of our attorneys, Gary Martin Hays and Derek M. Hays, are members of the prestigious Multi Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a society limited to those attorneys who have received a settlement or verdict of at least $2 Million Dollars. Another attorney on our staff, Kellie Henson, is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Gary has also been recognized in Atlanta Magazine as one of Georgia's top workers' compensation lawyers. He frequently lectures to other attorneys in Georgia on continuing education topics. He has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Georgia since 2007 by the American Trial Lawyers Association, and recognized by Lawdragon as one of the leading Plaintiffs' Lawyers in America. His firm specializes in personal injury, wrongful death, workers' compensation, and pharmaceutical claims. Since 1993, we have remained focused on the same types of cases for 30,500 clients. You can trust us with your case because we have been practicing law here in Georgia for over 20 years.
