We assist sellers and purchasers of businesses throughout the entire phase of the acquisition process, from the negotiation and preparation of letters of intent, to purchase and sale documents, financing arrangements, and closing of the transaction.

Our commercial attorneys regularly serve as Georgia counsel for multi-state transactions, providing assistance with Georgia law and regulatory requirements, as well as providing legal opinions.

Walter G. Elliott

Walter Elliott has been a member of the firm's litigation and appellate practice team since joining the firm in 1993. His practice covers a wide variety of litigation including civil and business litigation. Walter is also the County Attorney for Lowndes County, Georgia.

Walter's experience representing clients before Georgia and federal appellate courts earned him the Georgia Supreme Court's "Amicus Curiae" award for outstanding contribution to the practice of law. He has also served as president of the Valdosta Bar Association and president of the County Attorney's Section of the Association County Commissioners of Georgia.

Water received an A.B. cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1979 and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1982. Walter joined the firm in 1993 after being a litigation partner for the Atlanta firm of Alston & Bird, where he practiced from 1982 to 1993.

In addition to his law practice, Walter has also served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Valwood School, President of the Valdosta Rotary Club, an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church, and trustee of Presbyterian Homes of Georgia. Walter resides in Valdosta, Ga. with his wife, Laura. They have three children, Will, John and Eliza.
