Phillip M. Kelly

Philip Kelly provides legal services for clients concerning bankruptcy matters, insurance defense, family and divorce law, real estate transactions, contract disputes, wills and probate matters.

Philip was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He attended Creighton Preparatory School in Omaha before he went on to and graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1972. He was on active duty in the U.S. Army for almost two years as a 2nd Lt. Philip graduated from Creighton University Law School in 1977. He moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska in the summer of 1977 where he has lived continuously.

Philip has been actively practicing law since 1977 and has been a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee since 1989.

Philip was an Adjunct Faculty Member with Western Nebraska Community College from 1977 to 1990, Spring 1997, Fall 2004 until Spring 2006, and has taught credit courses in Real Estate Principles and Real Estate Law. He is a Certified Real Estate Instructor from the Nebraska Real Estate Commission.

Philip has also presented numerous seminars including Continuing Education seminars for real estate brokers and license holders, bankruptcy related issues and divorce for the Nebraska Lawyers' Project, Scotts Bluff County Bar Association and Family Law Initiative Seminar and for the 2003 Young Lawyer's Section, Practice Seminar. He presented materials on trustee issues for the Nebraska State Bar Association, Bankruptcy Section, Bankruptcy Seminar in 2005. In 2006, he made a presentation concerning bankruptcy issues, exemptions and BAPCPA for the Annual Institute on Survey of Nebraska Law, Young Lawyers Section, Nebraska State Bar Association.

Philip Kelly has been a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association and the Scotts Bluff County Bar Association since 1977. He has served as a board member of the Bankruptcy Section for the Nebraska State Bar Association. He has been a member of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees since 1989. In 1991, Philip was on the Nebraska Supreme Court Task Force on Gender Fairness in Court.

Philip has seved as a board member and past president of the University of Nebraska Panhandle Alumni Association from 1996 to 2002. Currently, Philip serves on the YMCA of Scottsbluff board and is a past president and recipient of the 2008 Volunteer of the Year Award.

Philip has served as a city attorney for several municipalities in Western Nebraska for the past 34 years.

Jerald L. Ostdiek

Attorney

Jerald Ostdiek has been practicing law with Douglas, Kelly, Ostdiek, and Ossian since 1992. Jerald's area of practice is focused on school law and helping injured and disabled persons in cases involving personal injury, workers' compensation claims, social security disability claims, insurance defense and general litigation. Jerald also represents Western Nebraska Regional Airport, and several insurance companies regarding personal injuries and workers' compensation claims. Additional areas include trial litigation, bankruptcy, and landlord/tenant matters.

Jerald was born in David City, Nebraska, and grew up in Bridgeport, Nebraska, where he graduated from high school. Jerald obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University ofNebraska

Jason Andrew Ossian

Attorney

Jason's areas of practice include civil litigation, family law, criminal defense, and juvenile law, and school law.
Jason was raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Excelsior, Minnesota, and Englewood, Colorado. He attended Lancaster University in England and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor's degree in English. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Law.

Jason currently serves on the St. Agnes School Foundation Board of Directors. He is also a member of Christ the King Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Richard A. Douglas (1945-2012)

Richard A. "Dick" Douglas was born November 23, 1945, in Pipestone, Minnesota to Donald and Leona (Smith) Douglas. After living in Texas for a short time, the family moved to Omaha, where Mr. Douglas graduated from Creighton Preparatory School and Creighton University. Following service in the United States Army, he married Judith Fitzgerald in Omaha. Mr. Douglas graduated from Creighton University School of Law in 1973, and the couple moved to Scottsbluff, where he began his law practice.

Mr. Douglas was the president of the law firm Douglas, Kelly, Ostdiek and Ossian, P.C., at the time of his death. He had many clients whom he represented with integrity and diligence. His passion for education was reflected in his representation of Scottsbluff Public Schools, Western Nebraska Community College, and many other school districts in western Nebraska, along with presenting numerous seminars for the Nebraska Council of School Attorneys, as well as estate planning seminars.

Mr. Douglas was an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, the Scotts Bluff County Bar Association, Nebraska State Bar Association, and the Nebraska Council of School Attorneys. He loved playing golf, discussing politics, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his advice, his generosity, and his sense of humor.
