Our firm consists of attorneys, Charles Williamson Barfoot, Benjamin Edward Schoettker and Kristina "Ashley" Granger. Will, Ben and Ashley attended law school at Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Alabama. During law school, Will and Ben took positions at a large plaintiff's firm located in the south where they gained valuable experience in the area of civil litigation. Upon passing the Alabama State Bar Will continued to work in the field of civil litigation while, Ben took a position as a Assistant Deputy District Attorney in Montgomery, Alabama. In 2004, Will and Ben decided to partner together and established the law firm of Barfoot & Schoettker, L.L.C. Ashley began working at the firm during law school as a legal assistant, upon passing the Bar she joined the firm as an associate attorney.

Ben is an experienced trial lawyer. He has handled numerous jury trials in the State of Alabama in both State and Federal Court. A few of his successes include verdicts of not guilty in trials involving Murder, Robbery, Theft of Property, Fraudulent use of a Credit Card, Domestic Violence, Harassment, Reckless Endangerment, Menacing, Driving Under the Influence and others. Ben also litigates personal injury cases were he has been successful in obtaining awards for people who have suffered injury due to the negligence of others.

He is an experienced negotiator as well, able to resolve cases without a trial when appropriate. His skill in negotiating on behalf of his clients has resulted in numerous criminal matters being dismissed by the prosecution and obtaining monetary settlements for his civil clients. He is a compassionate counselor that works to understand his clients legal battles and resolve them.

Ben was born and raised in Hollywood, Florida. After graduating from High School he came to Montgomery, Alabama on an athletic scholarship for baseball at Huntingdon College. He later attended Thomas Goode Jones School of Law, graduating in 2001 with a Juris Doctor degree. He began his legal career as an Assistant Deputy District Attorney in Montgomery County Alabama. In 2004, Ben became a founding partner in Barfoot & Schoettker, L.L.C. In 2007 Ben began serving as a Temporary Probate Judge in Montgomery County Alabama, a privilege he still maintains today. He served as President of both the Montgomery County Bar Association and the Montgomery County Trial Lawyers Association. Ben is married to the former Kimberly McWhorter and a proud father of their oldest daughter Neva Marie, son Samuel Benjamin and youngest daughter Clara Kae. He and his family are members of Trinity Presbyterian Church and currently serve in the children's ministry. He enjoys fly fishing and turkey hunting as hobbies.
