With thirteen attorneys Baird & Baird, P.S.C. has grown into a regional firm serving Eastern Kentucky through our office in Pikeville, and Central Kentucky through our Lexington office. Although we are large enough to be a full service regional firm, we are still small enough to maintain the type of personal attention to legal assignments that are essential to making client relationships a success. Our offices are equipped with state-of-the-art computer and telecommunications technology, a law library and computer legal research system, which assists in promptly providing services to our clients. William J. Baird III

Bill's practice is focused on General Civil Practice. Bill is a graduate of Pikeville College (now University of Pikeville) where he received his B.S. Degree in 1966. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky in 1969. He was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in October 1969. Bill served two years in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971. Bill is very active in the community. He is Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Pikeville where he has served as a trustee for 27 years. Bill has also been a coach for Pikeville High School and University of Pikeville Women's Softball teams. He is Board Chairman of Westcare of Kentucky, Inc., which is involved in treatment of substance abuse. He is active in his Church where he has served as an Elder, Deacon and Teacher. Bill is a member of the Pike County and Kentucky Bar Associations.

Degree in Business Administration in 1968. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Louisville in 1971. He was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 1971. He is a member of the Kentucky Defense Counsel, Kentucky Academy of Trial Attorneys, Delta Theta Phi. John is a member of the Pike County, Kentucky and American Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in all courts in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, U.S. District Court, and U.S. Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit.

Charles J. Baird

Charles' concentration of practice is Mineral and Environmental Law, Business Acquisitions, Leases, Real Property and Contract and Property Litigation. Charles is a graduate of Transylvania University where he received his B.A. degree in 1972. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky in 1975. Charles has served as Chairman of Coal Operators and Associates since 1987. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Community Trust Bancorp, Inc. since 1988. He was a member of the Worker's Compensation Board Nomination Commission, 1987-2008, Chairman 1996-2008; Charter Member of the A.B. Chandler Foundation; Chairman of the Board of Directors of the East Kentucky Exposition Center Corporation 1998-present. Charles is a member of Pike County, Kentucky and American Bar Associations.

James B. Ratliff

Jim's primary areas of practice are Banking, Bankruptcy, Collections, and Real Estate Law. Jim is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where he received his B.B.A. in Accounting with High Distinction. At EKU he received the Potter & Company Award and was elected to Phi Kappa Phi. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky in 1984. He was a member of Delta Theta Phi. Jim has served as Vice President and Director of the Pike County Society for Historical & Genealogical Research. Previously Jim has served as a member of the House of Delegates of the Kentucky Bar Association, Treasurer of the Pike County Bar Association, Treasurer and Director of the Pikeville Kiwanis Club, Coach, Vice President, and Director of the Pikeville Little League, Den Leader and Cubmaster of Pack 12, Pikeville, Kentucky, District Chairman of the Lonesome Pine District of the Bluegrass Council of BSA, and as baseball coach of Model Middle School in Richmond Kentucky. Jim authored Kentucky Probate A Simple Overview, Vol. 54 No. 1, Kentucky Bench & Bar (Winter 1990) and was a panel member for the feature CLE presentation of The Hatfields & McCoys: From Filing Suits to Firing Shots at the 2013 Annual Convention of the Kentucky Bar Association. Russell H. Davis Jr.

Russell is a 1978 graduate of the University of Kentucky where he received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University in 1981. Russell was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 1981. Russell has served as Attorney for the City of Pikeville since 1986. Russell is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, Pike County Bar Association (President, 1991 1992) and the Kentucky Defense Council.
