Offenses by Minors
Minors can commit both "adult" crimes and offenses specific to kids.
Despite their youth, most kids are old enough to get into trouble with the law. In fact, lots partake in activities that are illegal precisely because of the offender's age—take alcohol possession, for example. Most youngsters get the benefit of juvenile court for their misdeeds. But some, like those caught with alcohol who are old enough to be adults but too young to drink, have to deal with the adult system. (Also see When Juveniles Are Tried in Adult Criminal Court.)
