Change in Mandatory Withdrawal Rules for Thrift Savings Plans (TSPs)

Chapter 10 of Nolo's book Social Security, Medicare, and Government Pensions discusses the withdrawal rules for Thrift Savings Plans (TSPs). It mistakenly states that federal government workers who continue working after age 70 will be penalized if they don't start making minimum withdrawals. This rule has changed. The new rule is that you don't need to make withdrawals as long as you're working -- you'll only be required to start withdrawing money by April 1 of the year after you separate from federal service.
