Congress Changes COBRA, Time Limits for Pay Discrimination Claims

So far, 2009 has seen a few important legal developments in the employment law field, including these:

  • Congress amended COBRA to provide a partial subsidy for those who become eligible for continued health insurance coverage because of an involuntary termination of employment. Find out more in our article, New COBRA Rules: Stimulus Package Subsidizes Continued Health Insurance.
  • Congress passed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, overturning a recent Supreme Court decision setting the time limits for filing a lawsuit claiming pay discrimination. The case is covered in our blog, here.
