If your application is approved, you will receive a Bank of America debit card from the California EDD office. Each week, the EDD will load your benefit onto the card and send you a weekly statement explaining the benefit calculation. You do not need an account with Bank of America in order to use the card.
The EDD card can be used in the same manner as any other debit card, including withdrawing cash from an ATM. You can also cash out your balance at the bank or transfer any amount to a checking or savings account. To check your available balance at any time, call the number on the back of the card or visit the website listed on the back of the card.
Your integrated vacation or PTO benefits will be paid by your employer in its usual manner, for example, by check or direct deposit.
