Naming Unborn Children

It is best not to name "unborn" children in your will.

WillMaker does not allow you to name "unborn" children in your will.

Although it may be tempting to have your will apply to children that you expect to have in the future, in practice, doing so creates unnecessary confusion. It's clearer to name each of your existing children by name, and then to update your will each time a new child is born or adopted.

If you feel strongly about including unborn children, see a lawyer for help.
