Zachary Reibstein began his career in 2002 as a paralegal with the Queens County District Attorney's Office. Working in the Intake Bureau, he was responsible for interviewing police officers, crime victims and witnesses in order to decide what charges (if any) were to be brought. Mr. Reibstein left this position in 2003 to attend law school in San Diego, California on a full merit scholarship. During that time he earned numerous honors and awards before graduating Magna Cum Laude and in the top 10% of his class. His law school years also included clerkships with the San Diego City Attorney's Office, the Office of the San Diego Public Defender and an international law firm focused on securities fraud litigation.
After graduation Mr. Reibstein moved back to New York and began his career as an Assistant District Attorney in Queens. He began in the Criminal Court Bureau, prosecuting all types of misdemeanors including assaults, thefts, D.W.I and child endangerment. He was soon promoted to a position with the Career Criminals and Major Crimes Bureau as a riding ADA. In this position he worked closely with the NYPD on hundreds of investigations ranging from attempted murder to kidnapping, robbery, burglary, drug possession, drug sales, and domestic violence. His duties in this position also included drafting search warrants, advising the NYPD on evidence suppression issues, and supervising line-up procedures to make sure everything was done legally and fairly. It was during this period that Mr. Reibstein investigated and successfully prosecuted the burglary of a Queens Synagogue that resulted in the theft of over $200,000 worth of Torahs.
Mr. Reibstein left the DA's Office and opened his own practice in 2009, drawing on the skills and experience he gained as a prosecutor to now help those who have been accused of crimes. Whether it is a minor violation, a serious felony or a non-criminal matter entirely, Mr. Reibstein and the Reibstein Law Group will fight for your rights aggressively, guaranteeing you the best representation possible.
