A Michigan native, William E. Ziem attended Olivet College in Olivet, Michigan, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree and was a member of the college's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) championship football team. In 1989, he was inducted into the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame in honor of his football career there.
After graduating from Olivet College, Mr. Ziem earned his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing. He was admitted to the Michigan bar in 1978 and served as Assistant Prosecutor for the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office before opening his own practice in 1979. Since then, he has focused on providing quality legal counsel to the people of Oakland County and the surrounding counties.
