Desi Tobias

Desi Tobias is a graduate of The University of Alabama and the Cumberland School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor in 1987. Desi was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1987 and the Alabama State Bar in 1989.

More than 30 years ago, he began his law career serving with the Florida Attorney General in Tallahassee, Fla. In 1989, he returned to his hometown of Mobile, Ala. to begin practicing law with an insurance defense firm. Since 1995, Desi's practice has focused exclusively on the representation of injured victims. During his career, he has tried more than 100 civil bench and jury trials.

A graduate of McGill-Toolen High School, Desi attended Washington and Lee University prior to The University of Alabama. He has served on the McGill-Toolen Catholic High School Advisory Board and the St. Mary School Advisory Board.

Desi is a frequent lecturer at CLE seminars and has written on numerous litigation-related topics. Desi is rated AV (preeminent) by his peers on Martindale-Hubbell.

He is married to the former Cecelia Mills of Mobile. They reside in Mobile with their four children, Desmond, III, Michael, and twins, Jack and Macy.

In this case, a forklift knocked a load of steel onto the plaintiff's leg, thereby causing a blood clot. Settlement: $7 million dollars in a product liability action brought against the manufacturer of a product which malfunctioned and caused a fire, thereby injuring an entire family.

A jury verdict of $5 million dollars against an underinsured motorist carrier arising out of a traffic accident.
A jury verdict of $1.8 million dollars in a case arising from a truck accident which occurred in a parking lot. The plaintiff's injuries were soft tissue injuries with medical specials less than $10,000.00.
Settlement: $1 million dollars in a case arising from a trucking accident on I-65. The plaintiff sustained several broken bones in his left leg with medical specials of $100,000.00.

Jason S. McCormick

Jason McCormick plays a lead role in achieving exceptional results on behalf of clients at Tobias, McCormick & Comer. As a licensed attorney for the last two decades, he has dedicated his career to serving the Mobile, Ala. community.

Jason has successfully recovered millions of dollars for his clients, acting as lead and co-counsel representing plaintiffs in numerous cases over the last 20 years. His practice areas primarily focus on trucking accidents, workplace accidents, burn injuries, automobile accidents, product defects, and insurance fraud/bad faith.

Born in Montgomery, Ala., Jason was raised in Long Beach, Miss. He completed his undergraduate degree at Millsaps College where he received several honors and was a 4-year letterman on the football team. After college, he worked as an environmental consultant at a civil engineering firm, conducting hazardous materials site assessments and wetlands evaluations on numerous projects.

In 1999, he received his Juris Doctorate cum laude from the University of Mississippi School of Law. During law school, he was the Executive Editor of the Mississippi Law Journal, was on the Staff of the Journal of National Security Law, and served as a Research Associate for the Sea Grant Consortium; he was also published in various journals.

Jason has given several Continuing Legal Education seminars in his areas of practice and has published several acclaimed articles within the legal industry. Additionally, he is AV rated, the highest rating of legal skills and ethics. He is also listed among the Alabama Super Lawyers and was recognized as one of the Top Attorneys in Alabama by the publication Business Alabama.

Jason and his wife Ashley have two children, Isabella and Sage, and live in Fairhope, Ala. When he isn't practicing law, he enjoys coaching, saltwater fly fishing, mountaineering, and distance running.

Bryan E. Comer

An Alabama native, Bryan Comer and his family have close ties to the local community. In his role as a Partner at Tobias, McCormick & Comer, he helps lead the firm's practice with more than a decade of litigation experience focused on wrongful death, trucking accidents, products liability, class actions, medical negligence, and personal injury.

Bryan earned his Juris Doctor from The University of Alabama School of Law. While in Tuscaloosa as an undergrad, Bryan was a member of JASONS and Phi Beta Kappa, graduating magna cum laude. In law school, he was awarded the George Peach Taylor Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy and served as an Associate Justice on the Honor Court.

Rated "AV" by his peers on Martindale-Hubbell, Bryan has been recognized as earning the highest rating of legal skills and ethics. A licensed attorney in Alabama and Florida, Bryan is admitted to practice in all Federal Courts in Alabama as well as the Northern District of Florida.
