Michael R. Taege is the principal attorney and founder of Taege Law Offices. His primary area of expertise is family law, having worked with countless clients to resolve matters involving Divorce, High Net Worth Asset Division, Maintenance, Child Support, and Complex Child Related issue. Mr. Taege is also skilled and experienced in the estates planning and corporate law practice groups.
Mr. Taege earned his Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Illinois at Chicago before obtaining his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall School of Law. During his time at John Marshall, Mr. Taege took part in multiple honors associations, including serving on the board of The John Marshall Law Review and taking part in the Moot Court honors program. Mr. Taege also served as a member of the school's Restorative Justice Program and gaining experience as a law clerk with a prestigious Chicago Personal Injury firm. In the years following his graduation, Mr. Taege was invited to return to John Marshall as an adjunct professor, and has been featured in a number of legal publications, while establishing Taege Law Offices.
Taege Law Offices was founded upon Mr. Taege's belief that an attorney should not simply offer a service, but should rather cultivate a relationship between counsel and client. The building of mutual trust and rapport is vital to the way in which Mr. Taege practices law and operates his firm. Misty is an Associate Attorney at the Taege Law Office. She joined the firm in October of 2017 and brought with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise in family law, divorce, allocation of parental responsibilities (child custody), parenting time, and parental alienation cases. Prior to this role, Misty was an attorney at several notable law firms in Chicago where she dedicated her practice exclusively to family law cases.
Due to her many years in the field, Misty has gained invaluable experience in understanding the complex nature of family law proceedings. Misty also recognizes the devastating effects that parental alienation can have on families and the harm that defamatory statements and false allegations of abuse can cause to the parent-child relationship. Misty carefully crafts each case for the benefit of her clients and works to protect the parent-child relationship through the difficult times of separation.
Misty earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Northwestern University, and her Juris Doctor from the Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology. While in law school Misty interned at the Chicago-Kent Law Office Immigration Clinic as well as clerked for of a well-respected guardian ad litem.

Nicole is the Managing Attorney at Taege Law Offices, overseeing the operations of our staff and specializing in family law related matters. Nicole is passionate about approaching each case in such a way that allows her to be sensitive to her client's needs while vehemently protecting their rights.
Nicole attended Roosevelt University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, and a minor in Legal Studies and Psychology before attending The John Marshall Law School. While in law school, Nicole worked for the Cook County Public Defender's Office, gaining extensive experience under an Illinois Supreme Court Rule 711 License. In addition, Nicole worked on The John Marshall Law School's Restorative Justice Project, where she became trained in restorative justice techniques. During her time with the Restorative Justice Project, Nicole worked with students and children in some of Chicago's under-privileged schools and neighborhoods assisting with various legal matters.
Since joining Taege Law Offices, Nicole has reoriented her focus almost entirely on family law, gaining years of experience in a wide variety of cases. As a result of her extensive work involving children and family dynamics, Nicole is uniquely suited to guide her clients through cases that involve divorce, parentage, and allocation of parental responsibilities/child custody.
Currently, Nicole is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association.
