Richard J. Suzuki, Esq. is the founding attorney of Suzuki Law Offices, L.L.C., located in Tempe, Arizona but serving personal injury and criminal defense clients throughout Pinal and Maricopa Counties. He is licensed to practice law in both the state of Arizona, the United States District Court of Arizona, and the U.S. Court of Appeals 9th Circuit.
Richard began his legal career as a law clerk in the Arizona Superior Court, clerking under the Honorable Howard Fell. He was able to earn this clerkship only a short time after completing his J.D. at the University of Arizona College of Law in 2000.
For three years, Attorney Suzuki was actually a criminal prosecutor with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office. He was tasked during this time to investigate and litigate criminal cases involving suspected gang crimes, which included him in the Major Crimes Gang and Repeat Offender Program Bureau. Richard would later become the Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Arizona, where he was in charge of both misdemeanor and felony cases being processed in Tucson and Phoenix.
Today, Richard has switched his attention to criminal defense, which has proven to be his true calling. The experience and insight he gained working as a prosecutor and for the District Attorney's Office has translated well to his criminal defense work, especially when managing complex sex crimes defense cases. He is capable of managing a client's file from start to finish, including taking matters to litigation.
Attorney Suzuki belongs to a number of professional legal organizations, including the Maricopa County Bar Foundation, the State Bar of Arizona, Los Abogados, and the Arizona Hispanic Bar Association. He has been recognized with a number of professional awards and memberships, including The National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 Under 40, The Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and The Arizona Trial Lawyers Association. Richard speaks both English and Spanish fluently.
