Stonecipher Law Firm

Since 1908, Stonecipher's individualized approach has helped ensure that our clients get the legal and technical expertise they need without the endless layers of many large firms.

Firm Overview

It's an approach that is at the core of our Pittsburgh roots, and work ethic, that translates to better results for our clients.

From its inception as Stonecipher & Ralston, the firm built a reputation in the Pittsburgh area for excellence in the corporate, commercial and insolvency areas. Since the 1960's, when the firm became known as Stonecipher, Cunningham, Beard & Schmitt, P.C., the firm earned distinction as a preeminent "Bankruptcy" firm and came to be counted among the leading bankruptcy firms in Pennsylvania and garnered respect nationwide. In the years that followed to the present day, Stonecipher's core business and bankruptcy practice has continued to expand and is matched by equally robust and sophisticated practices in litigation and oil & gas.

Stonecipher has thrived for over a century by addressing the complex challenges facing many of the region's largest privately-held companies, Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, and small and mid-size privately held businesses. Our transactional, bankruptcy, litigation, and oil & gas lawyers have achieved impressive records of accomplishment in their respective fields.

Stonecipher has created and jealously maintains an entrepreneurial and collegial environment that promotes close relationships with our clients and has earned our attorneys a reputation for being trusted business advisors and counselors.

Stonecipher is known for effective business and bankruptcy solutions and litigation strategies and trial success that utilize the collective strengths of the entire firm. Stonecipher's passion for challenging work, competitive drive for perfection, and a commitment to the firm's legacy of distinction is at the heart of our firm culture. Our clients expect no less.
