Established on June 1, 1983, the law firm of Stephen B. Millin, Jr., P.C. is located in Kansas City, Missouri. Nancy Daringer, my executive assistant of 25 years, and I meet the legal needs of individuals, families and businesses in the areas of civil litigation and civil appeals. My firm is dedicated to serving our clients as well as various organizations within our local community.

Community involvement is an integral part of my legal practice. I benefit personally and professionally through my work with Operation Breakthrough, LEAP (Lawyers Encouraging Academic Performance) and my various speaking engagements. I believe that by being active in the community I can enact change, gain a greater understanding of society as a whole and receive in return. This creates a cycle of giving and growth that I am eager to pass on to my clients in the areas of civil litigation and appeals.

I Am Proud to Serve on the Board of Two Community Organizations:

Operation Breakthrough Operates a child care center in Kansas City and provides services to economically disadvantaged children. I have served on the board since 2000 and was the president in 2007. According to Operation Breakthrough's Web site, "The mission of Operation Breakthrough is to help children who are living in poverty develop to their fullest potential by providing them a safe, loving and educational environment." Operation Breakthrough also strives to support and empower the children's families through advocacy, referral services and emergency aid.

LEAP (Lawyers Encouraging Academic Performance) A 501(c)(3) organization across seven bar associations in Kansas City that offers financing and mentoring support to economically disadvantaged children. I am on the board of LEAP and have been involved with the organization since 1996.

I am also active in the legal community through numerous CLE presentations on various topics such as civil law and procedure, ethics, evidence and trial preparation. I am a former president of the Kansas City Bar Association and a current member as well as a former board member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys.

Stephen Millin

I established my law firm on June 1, 1983 after receiving my Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. Since its inception, my firm has provided legal services in various areas of civil litigation and appeals. I am involved in various professional and community organizations, including Operation Breakthrough, LEAP (Lawyers Encouraging Academic Performance), the Kansas City Bar Association and the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys.
