After graduating law school I joined the law firm Buchalter, Nemer, Fields and Savitch and specialized in business litigation. After leaving this firm and practicing as a sole practitioner I joined the law firm Scheinman and Bell where I remained until the firm dissolved. At Scheinman and Bell I handled all of the firm's business related litigation, which included the prosecution and defense of cases in state and federal court, and appeals. When Scheinman and Bell dissolved due to the demise of one of its partners, I served as in-house general counsel for a high-end furniture company. Later, when this business closed its doors I opened my own office as a sole practitioner where I litigated as counsel of record and as outside general counsel for a national client and handled a variety of commercial transactional matters. As outside general counsel I managed the client's litigation, which involved locating and recommending local counsel, strategizing with local counsel, and reducing litigation costs by parceling responsibilities among partners, senior and junior associates. Working with local counsel of record we successfully defended well in excess of one hundred class action lawsuits in California and other states.
