Jim grew up in the western part of New Jersey on the outskirts of Belvidere, New Jersey where his father maintained a law practice until 2011. He graduated from Seton Hall University in 1996 concentrating his studies in government and law. He received his law degree with honors from Seton Hall Law School. In 1999, he joined the Law Offices of David Spector where he concentrated in plaintiff's personal injury. After moving the practice to Millburn in 2000, the practice expanded into other areas of law including transactional matters. In 2009, the firm was transitioned into Spector Foerst & Associates where he currently serves as the firm's managing partner.
Jim now serves as the Mountainside Prosecutor and also serves as an adjunct professor for Seton Hall Law School.
