THE LAW FIRM OF SHOWALTER LAW GROUP, PA GETS RESULTS! CHARGED WITH A CRIME, DON’T DO THE TIME!

Personal Injury

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

I started my career immediately after law school at the Washington County Public Defender’s office. I was responsible for literally thousands of felony criminal cases. I was expected to shove people through the system without the time, money and resources that I needed to effectively represent them. The attorneys that work in public defender’s offices are almost always excellent, but they cannot function in such a horrible system.

I saw this played out many times in cases in which people charged with crimes were actually mentally ill, but the state refused to provide the resources to treat them but instead incarcerated sick people. I also saw many people incarcerated for drug addictions.
When I left the public defender’s office I joined a private law firm that focused not only on criminal defense, but also on personal injury. As I got into the personal injury area of law, I discovered that the insurance companies spent billions of dollars convincing people that they were “ambulance chasers” if they tried to get compensated for injuries caused by the negligent acts of others. I met many people who had been conned by the insurance company into signing a settlement without an attorney, and what they didn’t know was that they could never get another penny for their injuries again.
I noticed that the typical law firm does what is known as “general practice.” Those firms try to do a little civil, a little criminal, etc. They try to do every type of law that is out there. I knew that the only way to effectively serve clients was to start my own firm and to focus on the areas that I wanted to focus on. I knew that I understood the criminal justice system inside and out, and that I knew how to guide people through it effectively.
I also knew that I wanted to serve injured people as effectively as the largest personal injury firms are able to do. I found a way to hire a team of staff that work with law firms nationally that are paid based on the cases that they work. This way, I am able to offer every single resource that any firm you see on TV can offer, and I can still offer the atmosphere of a smaller firm. That is why I started Showalter Law Group, P.A..

Here, nothing we do is billed on an hourly basis. We don't even have a mechanism for keeping track of time that way. So we'll always agree to a flat fee in advance of the engagement so you'll never have any surprises about what something will cost you. We will make sure that you understand how to protect yourself if you are accused of a crime, and we will always work hard to minimize the damage to you that comes from that type of accusation. We get criminal charges dismissed and reduced!
If you are injured due to the negligence of others, we will work hard to maximize your recovery and handle all of the legal aspects of your claim so that you can focus on just getting better. We get $ for people that have been injured!
So that’s just a little bit about me and the firm; we are happy to answer any questions that you might have.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

I started my career immediately after law school at the Washington County Public Defender’s office. I was responsible for literally thousands of felony criminal cases. I was expected to shove people through the system without the time, money and resources that I needed to effectively represent them. The attorneys that work in public defender’s offices are almost always excellent, but they cannot function in such a horrible system.

I saw this played out many times in cases in which people charged with crimes were actually mentally ill, but the state refused to provide the resources to treat them but instead incarcerated sick people. I also saw many people incarcerated for drug addictions.
