Leonard H. Stone is a co-founder of Shook & Stone and has been a trial attorney for more than 18 years. As a founding partner, Leonard has played a significant role in establishing the firm as a highly regarded plaintiffs' law firm committed to individual rights. Leonard's practice focuses on personal injury litigation as well as all forms of Disability Law. He has represented adults and children injured or killed by killed as a result of defectively designed and manufactured products, as well as victims of malpractice, premises defects, motor vehicle negligence, and industrial accidents.
As a trial lawyer and negotiator, Leonard has recovered millions of dollars for deserving clients, handling many of the firm's most complex and most valuable claims. Leonard received his Bachelor of Arts Degree with honors from Brandeis University before earning his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Marymount University Law School in Los Angeles. He was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 1995 and is a long-time member of the Nevada Justice Association, currently serving on its Board of Governors. Leonard is a member of the American Association of Justice ("AAJ"), the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Nevada, and the Consumer Attorneys of California.
During his career, Mr. Stone has routinely volunteered his time and efforts to causes aimed at protecting the rights of consumers against insurance companies, businesses, and government bureaucracies. He has helped organize the legal community against tort reform and has fought for the enforcement of ethical practices with regard to representation of injury and disability clients. Mr. Stone has served as the acting delegate for the State of Nevada with the AAJ, the world's largest and most prestigious trial bar.
Outside the Courtroom
Outside the courtroom, Leonard is very active in the Community. Leonard is a past Chairman of the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas, and currently serves on its Board. He is a past recipient of the Jewish Community's Young Leadership Award for outstanding service and has represented his community nationally as a member of the Young Leadership Cabinet. He is the current President of the Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada.
Mr. Stone is also a busy husband and father of two children. His wife Judith is the Director of Marketing for the Shops at Crystals, Aria Las Vegas. He enjoys traveling, various types of exercise, and alpine skiing.

John B. Shook is co-founder of Shook & Stone and is active as lead trial counsel on many of the firm's largest cases. With more than 18 years of experience in complex personal injury trial work, John represents adults and children injured or killed as a result of defectively designed and manufactured products, as well as victims of medical malpractice, defective premises, motor vehicle negligence, industrial accidents, and insurance bad faith.
John is a member of the American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America), the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Nevada (Elected Chair of the Clients' Security Fund 2009 - 2011) and the Oklahoma Bar Association. He is one of the first attorneys in Nevada to be certified as a Personal Injury Specialist by the Nevada Justice Association (NJA). Read more about his certification here.
John is a past member of the Board of Governors for the Nevada Justice Association where he has been honored for his help in enacting legislation to aid Nevada's injured and disabled. John is also a Colleague of the Nevada Law Foundation and a graduate of both the National Criminal Defense College and the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. In addition, John has served as a member of the Nevada Medical Legal Screening Panel, which reviewed for merit all medical malpractice claims filed in the state of Nevada. John is currently an arbitrator for the Eighth Judicial District court-annexed arbitration program, a position which for which he also served in previous years.
John is married to Julie Shook, a former deputy district attorney with the Clark County District Attorney's office. Together, John and Julie actively support a variety of charities, including HELP of Southern Nevada, the Children's Advocacy Project (Legal Aid of Southern Nevada), Families for Effective Autism Treatment, New Horizons Center for Learning and the KLUC annual Toys for Tots Toy Drive. Additionally, as a member of Nevada's Citizens for Justice, John has made significant charitable contributions to help ensure that the law protects individuals who would otherwise not have a voice in our government.
Along with his wife and daughter, John founded and continues to operate SpectrumConnects, a charity whose mission is to help kids on the autism spectrum find other kids with similar interests and abilities to make lasting friendships.
