Nursing Home or Elder Abuse

Senior Justice Law Firm: Attorneys Focused on Nursing Home Abuse Cases The lawyers at SJLF narrowly focus their attention on cases against negligent nursing homes, assisted living facilities and long term care facilities. We can answer your question

For a combined 50 years, our nursing home abuse lawyers have been holding negligent facilities accountable for wrongful death, nursing neglect, bed sores, falls, broken bones, unexplained weight loss and medication errors.

Our elder abuse attorneys have recovered tens of millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts on behalf of victims of nursing home negligence. We have some of the largest jury verdicts in this sub-specialty and we have sued almost every corporate nursing home/ALF chain in the nation. Let our experienced and compassionate lawyers help you on your journey to justice.

Pursuing justice for victims of nursing home negligence, personal injury, medical malpractice, and elder abuse is our top priority. We are one of the only law firms in the U.S. focused on representing victims of neglect in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and hospitals. Protecting seniors from negligent caretakers is our mission and we are passionate about what we do.

Senior Justice Law Firm is a results-driven law firm focused on maximizing our client's recovery on every case. Our lawyers have a combined 50+ years of experience in the courtroom. Let our knowledge help answer your questions about injuries to you or your loved one.

Specific injuries require specific lawyers. Call us today to learn more about why Senior Justice Law Firm is different. We are available, toll-free, at 1-888-375-9998.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

At Senior Justice Law Firm, we are a highly specialized group of lawyers who limit their focus on what we know: nursing home abuse and patient neglect cases. You will not find 20 practice areas on our website. You will not see us on a billboard or on a cheesy TV commercial.

We limit our focus to what we specialize in, which allows us to maximize our clients' cases.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others?

We narrowly tailor our practice to cases involving wrongful death and serious personal injury. As a result, we enjoy a strong reputation with Defendants and insurance companies. This means our clients usually get generous offers of settlement, since Defendants know we will go to Court if a settlement is not reached.

Additionally, our vast experience suing nursing homes is unique to our firm. This experience also allows us to resolve cases with negligent nursing homes without years of litigation, since we maintain working relationships with major nursing home corporate chains.

Of course, if our clients want to go to trial, we are happy to do that as well. Our attorneys have more than $100 million in jury verdicts and settlements, and we always prepare every case as if it were going to trial.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

At Senior Justice Law Firm, we understand that your case is about much more than just money. It is about justice.

You have been wronged. You are seeking out a lawyer to represent you in the civil justice system. We do not take this responsibility lightly. We understand what you are going through and we are honored to be selected as your lawyers.

You will speak with a lawyer from your case's inception. Your questions will be answered by a lawyer and your case will be pursued by a lawyer. We do not have 'case managers' and you will not be pawned off to a paralegal.

We are a law firm; not a law factory. Your case will get the individualized lawyer attention it deserves in order to maximize your case's value.

You only get one opportunity to bring your case. Our statewide reputation for success and perfect online reviews separate us from other law firms. However, at the end of the day, you must choose your lawyer wisely, so we encourage you to call and speak with us to see why we are different. 1-888-375-9998

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

We believe knowledge is power. We have built our website to be an authoritative resource on nursing home abuse litigation.

At www.SeniorJustice.com, we try to provide as much information as possible to potential clients. By having a robust, informative website that answers client questions, we are able to better educate you on your legal rights after an injury or death inside a long term care facility.

What are your firm's strengths and style?

Our strength is our collective focus on this one sub-specialty of the law. Our attorneys round-table cases weekly and discuss cutting edge litigation techniques in cases against negligent nursing homes, assisted living and hospital facilities. Most firms only dabble whereas this is all that we do.

Our style is compassionate but aggressive. We understand that this is about far more than money damages. These cases involve righting a wrong. For that reason, we are relentless in our pursuit of justice, however, we are empathetic and compassionate when speaking with clients.

David Brevda

David Brevda is a trial attorney focused on nursing home negligence and medical malpractice litigation. Admitted in both Florida and New York, David fights for the rights of injured clients and their families in cases involving nursing home abuse, medical malpractice and wrongful death. David prides himself on treating each case individually and pursuing justice for victims with tenacity.

Mr. Brevda received his Juris Doctorate degree from the New York University School of Law and is well versed in long term care staffing, corporate structuring and tax issues. He graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in accounting and later received a master's degree in accounting from the University of Florida as well. In addition to holding a Master's in accounting, David Brevda has earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in taxation, graduating summa cum laude at the top of his Tax Law program.

Prior to joining Senior Justice Law Firm, David Brevda worked as a lawyer at the international headquarters of Clifford Chance law firm in London, United Kingdom. As an attorney at Clifford Chance, Mr. Brevda advised international investment banks and corporate issuers on equity and debt capital markets transactions, including high-yield bond offerings, high-yield notes analysis in restructuring, and IPOs.

Mr. Brevda has extensive experience with international corporate structures in the medical, long-term care, banking, and telecommunications sectors across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

A Unique Understanding of Understaffing, Corporate Structures & Asset Location
David Brevda returned to practice law in the U.S. to fight for the rights of those injured by nursing home, long-term care and healthcare corporations.

Particularly with nursing home and assisted living facility corporations, corporate owners insulate themselves from liability by carrying minimal insurance policies and creating shell companies to hide their money. Corporate nursing homes create multi-layered structures in order to minimize assets available to pay damages when they are negligent and hurt their vulnerable residents.

Mr. Brevda uses his vast knowledge of corporate and business structures to help identify the true owners of nursing homes by untangling the complex webs of shell companies created by the owners. This unique legal background in tax law and accounting enables David to analyze long term care facility staff numbers and budget diversions, especially in regards to understaffing, Medicare fraud and qui tam actions.

This in-depth financial and staffing analysis is unique among nursing home abuse law firms. Mr. Brevda's skill sets assist clients in obtaining compensation for the preventable injuries suffered inside these corporate-owned facilities.

She understands that you placed your trust in a facility to care for your loved one and feel that you have been lied to or let down. Avery and her team will guide you through each step of the process to ensure that the negligent individual, nursing home or medical provider is held accountable. At Senior Justice Law Firm, we devote the same time and attention to each case as if it was our loved one who suffered abuse or neglect at the hands of the facility.

With every resolution Avery obtains, she hopes to shed light on some of the systemic issues that have plagued the nursing home industry for years. A recognized speaker on the topic of elder abuse and neglect, Avery educates other attorneys across the country with the overall goal of improving the quality of care in nursing homes and healthcare facilities nationwide.

Before joining Senior Justice Law Firm, Ms. Adcock was a trial attorney in the nursing home litigation department of a prominent plaintiff’s personal injury law firm, litigating cases against nursing homes and assisted living facilities in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C. Ms. Adcock has successfully recovered millions of dollars for families effected by elder abuse, neglect and negligence.

A Virginia native, Avery is very active in her community and serves on the board of the District of Columbia Trial Lawyers Association and Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. She also is involved in the Maryland Association for Justice.

Avery Adcock in TrialAvery Adcock serves as pro bono counsel for AARP’s Legal Counsel for the Elderly’s Pro Bono Access to Justice Practice, which handles a multitude of civil legal issues affecting D.C., Virginia and Maryland residents with limited means, such as ensuring that seniors receive public benefits like Medicaid.

When she is not in court advocating for vulnerable senior citizens, Ms. Adcock enjoys traveling, running, watching Alabama football, and spending time with her husband and dog, Hemingway.
