Stephen C. Swain

"If everyone and every business lived by this creed, there would be no need for my work. Unfortunately, too few people live accordingly. They fail to think of the effects of their actions that results in and injury to OTHERS. My goal has been to help "others" in need who have been injured by reckless drivers and businesses that failed to train employees or ignore safety rules and professionals who are more interested in making money than helping "others" they took an oath to help.

If you are injured call or come into the office and I will listen, offer advice and help you whether the case and injury are big or small."

Robert J. Haddad

"Bob Haddad has been practicing law since 1982. He attended the University of Louisville on a baseball scholarship and received his undergraduate degree in 1978. After playing a year of professional baseball, he entered the University of South Carolina Law School. He graduated from the University of South Carolina and did a clerkship with a Federal Judge in Norfolk, Virginia for one year. Obtaining a clerkship position with a Federal Judge is not only valuable as further education prior to beginning your legal career, but it is an extremely competitive position. Each Federal Judge is only allowed to hire two clerks per year. Only a select group of law school graduates are in a position to fill those clerkship slots every year.

After working in Federal Court for a year, he began his career with a local law firm in the Virginia Beach area. Three years later, he, along with several other attorneys from that firm, began the firm of Ruloff, Swain, Haddad, Morecock, Talbert & Woodward, PC. He has spent his career representing folks who have been injured either through automobile accidents, medical malpractice, or by some defective product. He, along with his partner, Doug Hornsby, were the attorneys in a medical malpractice case which resulted in the largest medical malpractice wrongful death verdict ever rendered by a jury in Virginia."

Jeffrey T. Talbert

"Jeffrey T. Talbert has been practicing law for over 35 years. He grew up in Michigan and is a fan of all Detroit professional teams. Jeff enjoys all sports, but enjoys baseball, golf and soccer in particular.

Jeff has many interests but none hold a candle to hanging with his kids and watching them play sports. His son played baseball in high school and college, played independent professional baseball for two summers and played three summers in Europe. His daughter played soccer in high school and college. Jeff also likes gardening, traveling, working out, the West, good jokes and good beer.

Areas of Practice
Jeff has over 35 years of experience in business, estates and trusts. In the complex world in which we live, Jeff recognizes that a simple, straight-forward, common sense approach is often superior. On the business side of his practice, Jeff advises and protects corporate and business clients in establishing new business entities; negotiating and drafting shareholder, partnership and limited liability operating agreements among business owners; negotiating and drafting commercial leases; negotiating, handling and closing business transactions and resolving business disputes. Jeff helps business clients in many areas encountered by business including employment, tax, financing, contracts, buying and selling, real estate and immigration."
