Divorce

Divorce and Family Law

We represent men and women at all stages of a divorce or family law proceeding, from the decision to file through trial and post-judgment issues for modification or enforcement. We handle all matters related to or arising out of a divorce, from alimony and child support to property division and parenting plans. We also prepare prenuptial agreements.

If you are considering filing for divorce or are already a party to a family law dispute, you want an experienced attorney to protect your interests. Complex decisions about child custody and visitation, support and property are often more difficult when you face the emotional strain of a family breakdown.

We work closely with men and women throughout the divorce process, from the initial decision to file to post-decree requests for enforcement or modification of existing orders. While our goal is always to find ways to negotiate agreements between the parties, we can represent you at trial, if necessary.

We handle all matters related to or arising out of divorce, including:
Alimony or spousal support. We will help you determine whether an alimony award is warranted and, if so, the amount, frequency and duration of payments.
Child support. We will review all proposed child support orders to ensure that they comply with Massachusetts guidelines. We will make certain that all relevant income, including self-employment, seasonal and commission-based income, is property considered.
Property division. We will work with you to find an equitable distribution plan for the debts and assets of your marriage, including real estate, investments and bank accounts, retirement plans and business assets.
Child custody and parenting plans. We will help you establish and implement custody arrangements and parenting plans that are in the best interests of your children and protect your rights as a parent.

If you are considering marriage and will be bringing assets into the marriage, or have children from a prior marriage, we can help you protect your interests with a prenuptial agreement.
