As an attorney I focus to provide the best representation I can for my clients before the Workers Compensation Appeals Board.
Solo Practice representing injured workers before the WCAB
I began my practice of law as a Criminal Defense Attorney in Fresno California with the Alternate Defense Office (ADO). Since all the attorneys in the office maintained a separate private criminal law practice and I had no experience with criminal law, I decided to practice California workers compensation because I had interned with a workers compensation defense firm in San Mateo for about a year. However, as a new attorney I did not meet the necessary requirements to receive referrals directly from insurance companies so I started representing applicants referred to my by my colleagues in the ADO. Except for a short period working as a WC Defense attorney I have maintained an applicant practice. In 2010 I partnered with Farber & Co. to represent professional athletes with workers compensation claims in California, but left the firm in 2014 after new legislation effectively gutted professional athlete workers compensation claims in California. While on occasion I have sat for deposition for Farber & Co. (Pacific Workers Comp.) I have no affiliation with the firm preferring to maintain a solo practice in Mendocino County serving northern California.
