Many attorneys feel threatened and/or annoyed by their clients performing legal research. I am not one of them. I will gladly review whatever law a client finds, and am happy to discuss legal principles. When facing a criminal charge, a client's freedom is often on the line. An attorney that gets irritated at a client for doing research is not an attorney I'd want representing a loved one.
Absolutely. Criminal defense is a team effort. I will leverage my trial and research experience to get you the best possible outcome. I constantly evaluate cases I work on, and any documents a client may have, be it of evidentiary value or research they've conducted will be closely scrutinized.
My experience as a prosecutor has allowed me to be an effective advocate for my clients in private practice. I know the law. I know how to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses for your case. I have extensive trial experience. I am not intimidated by DA's or police officers. Whether it's negotiating for a favorable outcome, or taking a case to trial, I strive to empower my clients to make informed, confident decisions about their case.
