Criminal Defense

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Whether in a civil defense personal injury or dealing with a divorce, a client needs to ensure that their rights are being protected. A lawsuit can be devastating both emotionally, and financially and I like helping people through this trying time.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I think the worst thing a client can do is stay uninformed about their current situation, and therefore I encourage talking to them to keep them informed about the issues they face. Being informed about a legal issue can help the client maintain focus and tends to decrease worry and stress about their legal problem; my goal is to provide a clear objective about a client's case. The internet is a vast resource of ideas, articles and blogs, however blogs can be misleading and clients should always discuss their issues with a licensed practicing attorney. The law is always evolving and I research and handle each case with the particular individual client's issues, goals and objectives in mind. I have a one size does not fit all approach.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I am open to reading documents that might give me the fighting edge I need to help me give the best legal support I can offer. Client narratives and diaries are always welcome and assist me in representing my clients.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

While every situation is different, I am willing to sit down and talk to my clients about their case by providing a consultation to decide the best path of guidance that I can give them. It may prove difficult for someone to represent themselves.

Romaine Brown

I worked with a small boutique law firm that focused on Criminal Law, Family Law, and Civil Litigation prior to establishing my own firm.

I have handled a wide variety of cases in civil and family law. I am also a mediator and this experience assists me in representing clients. I continue to have a personal goal of enriching people's lives and pursuing and defending personal liberties.

One of my strengths is my ability to listen to clients and remember the details of their case. My style is to empathize with clients and present their issues in the most favorable way to ensure the best result.

Personal interests:

I love what I do and am constantly immersing myself in the process, whether working to help my clients or attending seminars to broaden my understanding of the field. I enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, bike riding, and yoga.
