Our partners, Steve and Matt Passen, have been consistently recognized as two of the top trial attorneys in Illinois. However, they consider themselves people first, lawyers second. We believe that to best represent our clients, we must be able to see the world through their eyes â and therefore spend countless hours with them, in their home, with their family. Only then can we ensure our clientsâ stories are told. This approach has resulted in record verdicts and settlements for our clients.
Mr. Passen graduated law school at the top of his class (summa cum laude, Order of the Coif) from DePaul University College of Law in 2006. He has received numerous awards and distinctions, such as: 40 Under 40, Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and Law Bulletin Publishing Company (2015)
Top 40 Under 40 Trial Attorney, The National Trial Lawyers (2015-present)
Emerging Lawyer, Law Bulletin Publishing Company (2015-present), Top 40 Litigation Lawyers Under 40, American Society of Legal Advocates (2014-present), Rising Star, Super Lawyers (2012-present)
Mr. Passen has secured multiple seven- and eight-figure verdicts and settlements for personal injury victims and their families. In one of his recent high-profile jury trials, Mr. Passen secured a jury verdict in excess of $19 million for a young boy who suffered a traumatic brain injury at a school operated by the archdiocese of Chicago. This verdict was recognized as one of the Top 100 Verdicts in the nation by the National Law Journal.
