Norman Linder Hull, P.A.

Firm Overview

The firm's main focus is consumer and business bankruptcies. The firm also handles cases involving foreclosure defense, construction matters (construction contracts and liens), other civil litigation, and some family law (we do not handle any personal injury claims or wills and trusts).

The firm was established in 1996 and has always had its offices in downtown Orlando. Since 1996, it has been a sole practice, although on occasion I have associated other sole practitioners to try larger cases.

Example cases

Ruff v. Dixson
Involving the construction of and application of the Florida annuity exemption within a bankruptcy context. Won a bankruptcy court decision permitting the exemption over several years of litigation with the Trustee.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Initially, it was by chance. I was with a firm that did surety defense and construction law and we had several cases which required representation in bankruptcy court.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Clients certainly should educate themselves as much as possible, but, given the amount of contradictory and sometimes misleading information which is available to the public, as well as scams, consultation with a lawyer is necessary for the client to really understand his or her situation.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I will gladly review the documents, but there will be a fee associated with the time I spend on them. If I end up filing a bankruptcy, I usually credit the fee toward the bankruptcy.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I will not coach clients who want to represent themselves.
