The Neville Law Firm is a litigation practice catering to a diverse range of clients with an emphasis on business litigation, creditor rights and litigated probate disputes. I am firm founder Donald Neville, and I have honed my craft over two decades, working first for one of the largest firms in Connecticut, followed by many years at a smaller firm. Now working as a sole practitioner, I am able to offer the legal skill and knowledge of a large firm with the personalized attention and service that smaller firms are known for.

C. Donald Neville

Accomplished Trial Attorney

For nearly 20 years, my practice has consisted exclusively of commercial litigation and trial work throughout the Connecticut Superior Courts, United States District Courts, and Bankruptcy Courts. I have successfully tried numerous cases to verdict, both court-side and jury, including a $2,500,000+ jury verdict that was fully affirmed on appeal.

Sometimes settlement is the best option for a client, but it's important for you and your adversary to know that the Neville Law Firm has the experience to take your case to trial and win.

Commercial Litigation and Bankruptcy

The Neville Law Firm has significant experience in all types of commercial litigation, such as contract disputes, intra-corporate disputes, civil fraud, contested business dissolutions, breach of fiduciary duty claims, tortious interference with contract and/or business expectancies, real estate and title disputes, construction disputes (including mechanic's lien disputes), and tax appeals.

A focus for the firm is creditor's rights, including payment disputes, commercial collections, commercial landlord/tenant disputes, commercial foreclosures, and judgment enforcement. The firm is well-versed in the all of the judgment enforcement mechanisms available in Connecticut.

As part of this focus on creditor's rights, I have a long history of representing creditors and landlords in all aspects of bankruptcy, including defending avoidance actions, prosecuting non-discharge actions, and proceedings relating to commercial leases.

Probate Litigation

The firm also maintains a robust probate litigation practice representing clients in virtually all contested probate proceedings, including (but not limited to) will contests, power-of-attorney accountings, trust accountings, breaches of fiduciary duties, theft or conversion by fiduciaries, and conservatorships. Clients include beneficiaries, fiduciaries, creditors, and family members.

Most notable is the firm's deep experience representing family members and or/fiduciaries concerning financial exploitation of the elderly. For example, I represented family members and fiduciaries concerning another family member converting assets from two elderly women and recovered almost $2,000,000 for the family. To my knowledge, that case was the first time the Connecticut pre-judgment remedy statutes were successfully used in probate court.

I also have extensive experience in probate appeals to the Superior Courts and Appellate Courts.

Appellate Work

I have successfully argued multiple appeals before the Connecticut Appellate Court and Connecticut Supreme Court on behalf of clients, including other attorneys. I am also admitted to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
