At the Neumann Law Group, we understand how difficult it is to be hurt in an accident caused by someone else's careless or reckless actions. It may be challenging to pay for medical bills and take the necessary time off work to fully recover. Sometimes the injured person cannot work at all, and this can put a financial and emotional strain on his or her family. Unfortunately, however, insurers often do not willingly pay out everything that a victim deserves. Enlisting Traverse City, Detroit, and Grand Rapids injury lawyers may be critical in asserting your rights.
Our principal is Attorney Kelly Neumann, an award-winning trial lawyer who has consistently settled over $3 million in personal injury cases every year for the past several years. In addition, Attorney Neumann recently settled a case for over $9 million dollars and also settled a case for $3.8 million.
It should be noted that when an individual is facing criminal charges, each element of the offense must be proven by the State beyond a reasonable doubt. This tends to be a very high burden of proof to meet. It is the job of a criminal defense lawyer to make sure that the defendant's rights are asserted and the prosecution's theories are challenged whenever possible. Some of the most common defenses to crimes involve procedural rules, which can affect the evidence that is presented to a jury. For example, the U.S. Constitution requires police to follow certain search and seizure rules. If the defense is able to show that law enforcement did not comply with these requirements, it may be possible to suppress the evidence seized during an illegal search and seizure.
