Harbour Law, formed in 2005 and located in downtown Norfolk,handles consumer bankruptcy cases and financial workouts. The lawyers at Harbour Law have practiced bankruptcy law since the late 1980's and have extensive experience and expertise.

Neil K. Winchester, James L. Pedigo, Jr., and Dana S. Power are the members of Harbour Law, PLC. They are consumer bankruptcy attorneys who each have extensive experience filing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases. Both Neil Winchester and Jim Pedigo have practiced in this area since the late 1980's. Dana S. Power's early bankruptcy career involved representing creditors before changing to represent individuals in 2009. We believe in personal service to our clients: an attorney meets with all potential new clients, not a paralegal. How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

The attorneys at Harbour Law, PLC have each practiced bankruptcy law their entire careers. Neil K. Winchester and James L. Pedigo, Jr. worked at Alexander P. Smith and Associates, which was a premier Hampton Roads bankruptcy law firm, in the 1980's and 1990's. There, they had the privilege of working with the now retired Alexander P. Smith while he served as a Chapter 7 Trustee. Dana S. Power spent her early legal career managing the bankruptcy department of a large foreclosure firm before changing sides to represent debtors. With the combined experience and expertise of the lawyers who comprise Harbour Law, bankruptcy law is our continued focus.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others?

Both Neil K. Winchester and James L. Pedigo, Jr., graduated from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary and have served as adjunct instructors at Tidewater Community College in the bankruptcy area.

Dana S. Power earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 1985 and law degree from the University of Georgia in 1991. Her prior experience representing creditors in bankruptcy enables her to provide a unique perspective for her consumer bankruptcy clients.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

Our firm specializes in personal efficient service to our clients. All clients meet with the lawyer several times in the bankruptcy process. The attorneys also attend all hearings with the client. Many law firms delegate important matters to paralegals but that is not the case at Harbour Law. We are conveniently located in downtown Norfolk, Virginia near the Bankruptcy Court. We have filed many, many cases of Chapter 7 and 13 in over 30 years of practice.
