Jared also devotes a substantial amount of his practice to other civil matters, including insurance bad faith, estate litigation, real estate litigation, and breach of contract.

After graduating from Pendleton County High School in 2005, Jared attended West Virginia University where he majored in Finance. He received numerous honors form the College of Business and Economics before graduating summa cum laude in 2009. Although Jared still has an interest in business and finance, his heart has always been dedicated to the law.

While attending the West Virginia University College of Law, Jared quickly distinguished himself by his advocacy skills. Jared received the highest grade in Trial Advocacy and Post-Conviction Remedies. He was also voted President of the Marlyn E. Lugar Trial Association by his peers. During his third year, Jared won the prestigious Lugar Cup Competition, which was judged by Justice Stephanie Thacker of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Jared was selected for the Patrick Duffy Koontz Award for his outstanding promise with respect to scholastic ability and attainment, moral force of character, and leadership.

After graduation, Jared worked in the litigation group of Bowles Rice LLP in Charleston. He primarily defended personal injury actions, but also had experience in breach of contract, bad faith, deliberate intent, property damage, and defamation cases. Jared speaks very highly of Bowles Rice and often refers matters outside of his practice back to his old colleagues.
