What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Self education is important, whether it be legal or any other topic. However, a client should not rely on legal advice they read about on the internet. Often times, the information is incorrect. Laws differ state to state, municipality to municipality, etc... Additionally, laws change everyday with legislative actions and with court interpretations. never rely on legal advice you read online.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

No.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

Depends on the areas of law. Many practice, such as Workers Compensation, have mandatory mediations provisions. Mediations are common in other areas of law, such as Family Law. Collaborative approaches to resolving legal problems for clients should always be considered to save clients money and minimize the complexity of issues.
