Samuel L. Milledge Sr.

Mr. Milledge received his Juris Doctorate Degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 1985. He has extensive experience in the areas of bankruptcy, family law, and personal injury and criminal law.

Mr. Milledge received a Master of Music Education Degree from The University of Southern Mississippi in 1980. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from Alabama State University in 1977. While attending Alabama State University, he played in the marching band, concert band, and orchestra. He became a member of Phi Mu Alpha Professional Musician Fraternity. He also became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Mr. Milledge was a member of the honor society and graduated with honors with Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education.

Mr. Milledge grew up in the Montgomery Alabama and was educated in the public school system of Montgomery County, Alabama. He graduated from G.W. Carver High School of Montgomery, Alabama. He played in the band and on the basketball team.

When not practicing law, Mr. Milledge is a professional jazz musician with the Conrad Johnson Orchestra in Houston, Texas. He plays tenor and bass trombone with the group. He has played with the Conrad Johnson Orchestra since 1982. Prior to coming to Houston and joining the Conrad Johnson Orchestra, he played R&B music and played with several recording artists such as Clarence Carter, Betty Wright, and Joe Simon.

Mr. Milledge has served on several boards as a volunteer. He was a charter board member of North East Cultural Art Center, a fine arts program that provided experiences in fine arts to inner city youths in Houston, Texas. He is a past president of Law Focus Education Committee an auxiliary arm of the State Bar of Texas that assist state educators in providing materials and ideas for teaching civics, government and law in the public school systems.

Samuel L. Milledge, II, or as known to most as "Sam", hales from Houston, Texas, being raised in the Greenspoint area of Houston.

Sam attended the prestigious St. Pius X High School, where he starred on the varsity basketball team his freshman through senior year. While at St. Pius X, Sam graduated Suma Cum Laude and was bestowed with the honor of being named "Mr. Panther" his senior year.

After graduating from St. Pius X in 2000, he continued his academic and athletic career at Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama, earning his BA Degree in Communications and graduating Suma Cum Laude in May of 2004.While at Alabama State, he lettered in basketball all four years. He was a part of the first and second team in Alabama State University's history to make the NCAA tournament. He was named captain of the men's basketball team his junior and senior year. In the spring of 2002, Sam pledged and became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.

Although having offers to further his basketball career professionally, Sam accepted a job working at the famed "97.9 The Box" in Houston in the promotions department. He quickly worked his way on to the programming side and went by the on-air name of Handsome Sam "The Greenspoint Gentleman." After two years of working in Radio, he decided to go to law school. In April of 2006, Sam was accepted into the Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

He spent the next three years earning his Juris Doctorate from Southern. After earning his J.D. Sam went out to Las Vegas, Nevada to work for the Clark County Public Defender's Office from 2009-2011. After spending two years on the West Coast sharpening his trial skills, he decided to bring his talents back home to Houston. He is now a Managing Partner along with his father, Samuel L. Milledge, Sr. of The Milledge Law Firm, PLLC. Sam's primary areas of practice are Federal and State Criminal Law, Sports and Entertainment Law, and Personal Injury. Since becoming licensed in Texas in 2011, Sam has quickly developed a reputation of being a very talented and intense trial lawyer.

When not at work, you can easily find Sam at a nearby gym playing basketball or serving as a youth basketball coach, which is a passion of his. He's also an active member of the Young Adult Ministry at his church, Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church.
