Matthew K. Merrill
Fighting for His Clients’ Rights in Lyon County
As a native of Nevada, Attorney Matthew K. Merrill has earned a reputation as a Dayton criminal defense lawyer who fiercely advocates on his clients’ behalf. He is the founder of Merrill Law, and has served as defense counsel for thousands of cases throughout his career. During his time at Creighton School of Law in Nebraska, Mr. Merrill took a position at the Iowa Public Defenders Office and worked with a local attorney’s firm in Omaha as well. His thorough understanding of the court system makes him a strong ally for his clients.

A Wide Range of Legal Knowledge
Having owned and operated a number of small businesses, Mr. Merrill has a unique understanding of business legal practices and procedures which he uses to help his clients. He attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and earned a BSBA in Business Management, allowing him to offer legal services in situations beyond those in need of criminal defense, such as families and businesses.
In addition to criminal defense, Mr. Merrill offers legal advice for:
Business law
Estate planning
Family law
Your Advocate During Challenging Times
Having worked in the Lyon County District Attorney’s Office as a Deputy District Attorney, Matthew K. Merrill has a working knowledge of how prosecutors bring suit against those accused of criminal offenses. These kinds of charges are very serious. Having a criminal record could hurt your chances at obtaining employment, housing, and being able to vote. Do not fight your case alone.
An Ally in Your Community
Mr. Merrill is committed to helping clients in Lyon County. He has been admitted to the Supreme Court of Nevada and the U.S. District Court of Nevada. He spends his free time with his family enjoying the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and playing baseball.
