Steven Rosenberg provides highly effective, skilled mediation throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. There is no administration fee and no charge for an initial phone consultation, so you can determine if the mediation process is appropriate.
Steven Rosenberg derives great satisfaction from helping people find resolutions to their disputes without a loss of their dignity or compromise of their real interests. His goal is to empower people to fashion their own solutions without the emotional damage, delay and financial burden which are often a part of litigation. He became interested in mediation as an alternative to our present justice system and its frustrations. By combining his legal and interpersonal skills as a mediator, he can better serve the ends of justice.
Most people who use mediation are able to reach settlement. Because mediation works to reduce hostility and misunderstanding, even those who are angry or in high conflict can be successful. In fact, it is those situations in which mediation can be most effective. Anyone who has a good faith interest in settling their disputes, and the ability to speak up for their own needs and interests can mediate.
Steven now specializes in mediation. Steven earned the highest rating from Martindale-Hubbell's system for rating attorneys. He received his J.D. Degree from the University of Iowa and then served as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is admitted to practice law before the U. S. Court and in California, Hawaii, Iowa, and the District of Columbia. Mr. Rosenberg practiced family law for over 15 years. He is an Approved Consultant for the Academy of Family Mediators and one of six individuals selected by the American Arbitration Association to develop and serve on their first Family Law Mediation Panel in the United States. He was an Adjunct Professor for the Law School at the University of San Francisco. He is recognized as a Diplomat Member of the California Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.
Steven is a member of the mediation panels for the U.S. District Court, and the San Francisco, , and Alameda Superior Courts. He was designated an Approved Consultant for the Academy of Family Mediators and is a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution.
Mr. Rosenberg believes that mediation is the only viable alternative to financially and emotionally debilitating courtroom battles. People who come to mediation are often attracted by the tremendous savings in time and money. While this advantage is not insignificant, the most critical advantage is the positive effect on the relationship of the parties after the divorce. Another critical advantage is that a mediated resolution is usually far superior and more durable to one imposed on people by the court.
