Jeffrey Lieser

After attending Law School at the University of Florida-Gainesville and serving as a clerk in one of the most venerable and eminent law firms in that city, Jeff assisted a successful statewide political campaign in the position of Finance Director. He later went on to litigate in State and Federal court as an associate at one of Florida’s most prestigious, state-wide and full-service law firms, arguing on behalf of numerous Fortune 500 companies, including clients from both the insurance and financial sectors.

Jeff is the Managing Partner of Lieser Skaff Alexander (LSA), a 9-attorney firm with 3 Florida offices. Jeff has concentrated his practice on business law and business litigation.

In 2017 and 2018, Jeff was named to the Florida Legal Elite roster. The select lawyers on this prestigious list represent fewer than 1.5% of active Florida Bar members. Jeff has also been selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers® magazine each year from 2013-2017, an honor based upon peer review reserved for the top 2.5% of attorneys under age 40.

Jeff represents clients in complex business and civil litigation cases at both the trial and appellate levels. He is also a Circuit Civil Mediator and a Major in the United States Army Reserve J.A.G. Corps and a Veteran of Operation New Dawn in Iraq. He deployed with the First Heavy Brigade Combat Team, First Infantry Division. While deployed, Jeff served as the Brigade's Legal Representative in Iraqi courts where he prosecuted terrorism cases involving attacks against U.S. Forces.

Ghada Skaff

Ghada has served as corporate counsel to some of Tampa Bay's finest businesses, entrepreneurs and start-ups.

Ghada has been selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers® magazine each year from 2015-2017, an honor based upon peer review reserved for the top 2.5% of attorneys under age 40.

While attending law school at the University of Florida, Ghada served as a research assistant for a professor of law, a Law Clerk at the Clerk of Circuit Court in Hillsborough County and as a Summer Associate at Gray Robinson.

After graduating, cum laude, she returned to her native Tampa to serve as the general counsel to a family-owned manufacturing and export company. She has leveraged that experience to assist Tampa businesses on a wide range of transactions and contracts, such as: purchase and sale agreements, franchise agreements, licensing agreements, factoring agreements, non-compete agreements and fuel supply agreements.

A substantial part of her practice also involves the sale or assignment of various types of businesses including restaurants, retailers, yacht brokers, marine companies and supply companies.

Ghada also advises the firm's Tampa Bay business clients on the advantages and disadvantages of different business forms, including sole proprietorship's, partnerships, limited partnerships, limited liability companies (LLCs), and corporations. As part of that process, Ghada prepares, reviews and analyzes documents required to establish and maintain a business in good-standing under Florida law, including articles of incorporation and organization, partnership agreements, bylaws, corporate resolutions and annual filings.

Ghada is also well-versed in the international export of goods, to include, the drafting and review of Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin and Legalized Documents.

Joseph Alexander

Joe focuses on business and commercial litigation, real property disputes, landlord representation, title insurance claims, trust and probate litigation, and corporate and business disputes, including shareholder derivative and dissolution actions.

In addition, Joe represents community associations, such as homeowners’ associations and condominium associations. Joe’s diverse experience also includes general probate administration, drafting of wills and trusts and transactional matters. Licensed in 2003, Joe has been awarded the prestigious AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest such recognition possible for a lawyer, and one which reflects the opinions of members of the bar and judiciary.

Joe has also been named a Florida Trend’s Legal Elite “Up and Comer,” and been recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers® magazine, an honor based upon peer review reserved for the top 2.5% of attorneys under age 40. Laura Coleman

Laura M. Coleman is an associate in the Tampa law firm of Lieser Skaff Alexander. She practices complex commercial litigation.

After receiving her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, Ms. Coleman clerked for the Honorable Virginia M. Hernandez Covington, United Stated District Court, Middle District of Florida. As a Law Clerk Fellow, she researched and analyzed an array of complex legal issues in the areas of contract law, labor and employment, and product liability.

During her tenure in law school, Ms. Coleman served as President of the University of Virginia chapter of Phi Alpha Delta, the preeminent law fraternity whose alumni includes six former U.S. presidents and five current U.S. Supreme Court justices. She was also Chief Executive Editor of the Virginia Environmental Law Journal, where she ran one of the University’s oldest law journals, overseeing the publication of cutting-edge environmental jurisprudence.

In addition, Ms. Coleman served as a Research Assistant to the late Professor Jeffrey O’Connell—the renowned legal scholar who helped create the model for “no fault” auto insurance to protect traffic accident victims, reduce auto insurance rates, and curb frivolous litigation. Ms. Coleman also interned with the University of Virginia’s employment law clinic through the Legal Aid Justice Center, where she represented clients before the Virginia Employment Commission.

Before entering law school, Ms. Coleman attended Flagler College where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English and political science. Upon graduation, Ms. Coleman was given Senior Recognition Awards for Academic Achievement by both the English and liberal studies departments.

Ms. Coleman is a member of the Florida State Bar, the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers, and the Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers. She is an active volunteer for the Bay Area Legal Services and engages in charitable activities with her church.

Daniel Drake

Daniel G. Drake has been practicing law for 22 years and concentrates his practice on the representation of commercial landlords, residential property managers, real estate management companies and apartment communities all over Florida.

He is a former police officer with the St. Petersburg Police Department where he served as a Detective and member of the SWAT team.

Dan left the Department after ten years to further his passion for the law and attend law school at Stetson University College of Law. During law school, Dan was a member of the Law Review and graduated with honors.

After law school, Dan worked at the full-service, statewide firm of Wicker Smith, before opening his own successful law practice and title company.

Alissa Kranz

Alissa A. Kranz is an Associate based in the Tampa office. She focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation. Alissa represents individual business owners, companies, and partnerships—both small and large—and commercial landlords in a variety of complex matters in both Federal and State courts.

Prior to joining LSA, Alissa served as a federal judicial law clerk to the Honorable Susan C. Bucklew of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and worked as a business litigation associate at a large defense firm within its National Trial Practice Group. She also worked as a first-party property associate, where she represented some of the nation’s largest insurance carriers at the litigation and pre-litigation stages.

Alissa has been selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine for 2018, an honor based on peer review that is reserved for the top 2.5% of attorneys under age 40.

She has experience representing both Fortune 500 companies and small business owners in contract disputes, including class actions. In addition, Alissa has handled probate litigation matters and will contests.

Alissa obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida, Magna Cum Laude, where she graduated seventh in her law school class, served as an editor of the Florida Law Review, was inducted into the Order of the Coif, and held various positions in campus organizations. Alissa also obtained the highest grade in her law school class in the following courses: Civil Procedure, Income Tax, UCC and CISG Sales, and Family Law.

Prior to attending law school, Alissa graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Marketing from the University of Alabama, Magna Cum Laude, where she was a member of the Varsity Women’s Rowing team and remains one of the most decorated athletes in program history.

When she is not practicing law, Alissa is actively involved with activities at the University of Florida. She is a member of Florida Blue Key and the Law Alumni Council, and regularly attends Gator sporting events. Danielle Lutyk

Danielle M. Lutyk is an Associate in the Tampa office. She focuses her practice on business and real estate litigation.

Prior to joining LSA, Danielle worked as an appellate associate at a law firm where she represented some of the nation’s largest insurance carriers on matters throughout the state of Florida, including those before the Florida Supreme Court. Danielle also worked as trial counsel on several personal injury cases.

Danielle obtained her Juris Doctor from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2017, where she served as a senior staff editor for the Washington University Law Review. She also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Noelle C. Collins of the United State District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.

In addition, Danielle served as a research assistant to Elizabeth Sepper, Associate Professor of Law, a Student Attorney for the law school’s Interdisciplinary Environmental Clinic, and a legal extern for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Office of General Counsel. She was also an active member of and held elected positions in several organizations, including the Dean’s Advisory Committee, Health Law Association, Phi Alpha Delta, Student Bar Association, and Women’s Law Caucus. In addition, Danielle served as a volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association. Danielle was the recipient of the Scholars in Law Award and, after competing in the 2015 Wiley Rutledge Moot Court Competition, earned an Outstanding Brief Award and achieved an award as a Quarterfinalist in oral argument.

Prior to attending law school, Danielle graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia College & State University in 2014. During this time, Danielle was the recipient of the Georgia Hope Scholarship and both the Outstanding Academic Achievement and Outstanding Research Achievement awards for her extensive work and discovery of a unique mycobacteriophage, which she named Milly.

In her personal time, Danielle enjoys cooking, reading science-fiction novels, and has dreams of traveling the world.

Karen Prevatt

Lawyer Karen J. Prevatt is Of Counsel at Lieser Skaff Alexander. She is based out of the firm’s office in Sun City Center, Florida. Ms. Prevatt has 42 years of experience in estate planning, probate litigation and real estate matters. She has served as legal counsel for many, including the Southshore Coalition for Mental Health & Aging and Mental Health Care, Inc.

Ms. Prevatt graduated with high honors from the University of Florida in 1968 and continued her education at the University of Alabama where she earned a Masters of Public Administration in 1970. She returned to Florida to attend Stetson University, where she obtained her J.D. in 1975, and later received her L.L.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida in 1984.

Ms. Prevatt worked at several prestigious law firms, including the full-service law firms of Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson and Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, before opening her own successful practice. She merged her law firm with LSA in December, 2017.

Ms. Prevatt has been active in local, state and national legal organizations, including the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Florida Bar and the National Association of Estate Planners Councils.

She currently serves on the Community Foundation of Greater Tampa Bay, Inc.’s South Shore Council and its Professional Advisory Committee.
