Bankruptcy
We file Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies.
In addition to our large injury practice, we also file consumer bankruptcies. We can file for anyone in Northern Kentucky, and can conduct most of our business by phone and email so your drive time into the city is limited. Our turn around time on filing is quick, and we can generally set up your free consultation in 24 hours or less, and in emergencies we can file the entire bankruptcy in 24-48 hours. Call us today! We're Working Hard for the Working Class, and we want to help you!

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Justin Lawrence has been working with injured people since high school, and developed an appreciation for the burdens the injured and their families carry as they try to keep their life on track and heal from their injuries at the same time. After years in practice as an attorney, Justin also realized that he could help with his clients' financial burdens. When the 2007 financial crisis hit, Justin decided to expand into bankruptcy to help both his injured clients and new, uninjured clients get their financial legs back under them. Not all law firms focus on service to others, but ours does.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

Customer service, customer service, customer service! Every staff meeting, every attorney meeting, and every day begins and ends with customer service. No one wants an injury and no one wants to file a bankruptcy, but these things happen. We want you to be so satisfied with your experience that you refer friends, family members, and neighbors to us if they have similar problems. We've built our business on referrals from not only prior clients and their families, but also from doctors and other attorneys. We're that good!

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

Yes, our firm created and operates the Wills for Cops program, which provides free Wills to active duty LEO and their spouses. Our attorneys also speak to elementary school children about the practice of law, taking them through a mock trial situation that allows them to decide "Who Took the Candy."

We also sponsor multiple local non-profits - including the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati and Redwood - and sponsor several elementary school system fundraisers. Finally, we are staples of the Fort Mitchell Fourth of July Parade, and the Shamrock Shuffle.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

These days, everyone should use mediation to help resolve cases. While some cases simply cannot be resolved this way, we believe our clients deserve to know the maximum that a defendant is willing to offer before taking on the risk and expense of trial. Only by engaging in mediation can our clients make the most informed decisions about how to proceed.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Because we are paid on a contingency fee, document preparation is our job. Our clients should not have to engage in something that they are already paying us for.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

We think lawyers are no different than plumbers. Much like plumbers, its our job to deal with all the "stuff" so you don't have to. This is a service industry, and our clients have to make a choice about whether they want to spend the time to learn the process for themselves, or spend the money to have someone else do it for them. And, just like when you work on your own plumbing, you run the risk of having all the "stuff" you don't want to see show up everywhere if you make a mistake. However, if you mess up on your plumbing, you can always clean it up and try again. If you mess up on your legal work, you may have blown your only chance.

Feel free to educate yourself, but don't mistake a few hours of reading webpages for years of legal education and a law license. Our lawyers have juris doctorates for a reason.

Is your firm willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

This is called Limited Scope Representation, and we are working on adding this to our practice. Stay tuned.

What are your firm's strengths and style?

Our firm's strength is customer service. We purposely hire more staff than similarly sized law firms in order to give more attention to our clients' phone calls and emails. This doesn't mean there will always be someone to answer a questions immediately, and it doesn't mean an attorney will always answer a question as opposed to a paralegal. But it does mean clients will get to meet their attorney in person at the start of the case, and it does mean we pick up the phone and return calls promptly. Our goal is to have answers to client questions in twenty-four hours or less.
